Somehow..

Someone finds out your cellphone number..

And keep sending you bizarre messages, lovey dovey, smoochy-woochy, all friedly kind… You call to find out who it is…and it goes to message.

What will you say or text back?

1- Is this a co worker (or anyone) trying to have fun with you

2- Real admirer?

3- Someone else?

Anything is possible ..just give your valuable input how to differentiate among these..

Re: Somehow..

i wouldnt try calling the person, i'd just call the customer service and report this person...

or maybe send a text asking the person to reveal his'her identity in 5mins or else i'll report them. wait for 5mins, if no reply....then customer service zindabaad:D

It is anonymous or private or even if it has a number attached (unlisted), you do not see an imminent threat.

Re: Somehow..

This has happened to me..but instead of txts..the dude actually dared to call me!!! It was actually very funny..coz he was explaining to me frm where he was, his name, and where he worked. Said he knew me..I asked him where he got my number, and he said it was a secret!!

So I told him okkkk…I don’t know who u are, and how you got my number..but pls. do NOT call me again. And then he said… “Ok..i’ll try not to” :smack:

So I just told him.. “No…there is nothing to dowith TRYING..YOU just WILL NOT dial this number again!!!” and he said ok…and did not call me again.

I later found out who he was and gave hell to the person he got my number from.

Did you even find out about the person who called you?

Re: Somehow..

So what is so difficult to play along?

Re: Somehow..

I didn't need to find out much about him...coz i found out who he was and why he had called...I mean he had NEVER seen me...and the reson he called was not at all funny...

Re: Somehow..

Does this person say your name? It's possible that it's just wrong number.

Re: Somehow..

Has happened with me twice. The second time whoever it was called me too.I replied 2 times…once to ask who it was and the second time to tell him not to call again and after the second time he thought of blackmailing me:cb: and sent an SMS telling ki he has a pic of me and if I dont reply to acha nahi hoga and tht he only wants to talk to me.:omg:
I didnt bother cuz I know ki jub family don’t have pics of me..jub I myself only have passport pics toh how will he get them:cb:
The only thing that bothered me was how did he know I was urdu speaking before even talking to me.
Well he called a few more times and then when no response from me he stopped calling:)

oh nooo...he knew my name..he knew who I was..he was jst trying to flirt with me, and create some problems.

Re: Somehow..

Go to the FIA. Hand over the number as part of a Taliban operating ring. End of harassment.

Re: Somehow..

^:omg:

The question was directed at the original poster.

Re: Somehow..

^:cb: hahahaha…srrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy :o

Re: Somehow..

give the person's number to some lafanga type of person who will in turn harass that person themselves.

hahah that’s ok sweetheart.

Not saying name does not automatically mean it could be wrong number but I agree it 'could' be wrong number if no name is spoken.

Perhaps this is the first reaction everyone will have.

Re: Somehow..

Just ignore!!!!!

Yes, that is one good option.

1- Because of lack of response the person may become bored or it will give an idea that it was wrong number.

2- If someone is checking up on you...your spouse/SO your loyalty, then it will be good to ignore.

Repeated benign or lovey dovey, nice messages hardly can make someone to go hard on that person to report to authorities.

Obviously if the situation is different where this person threatens or uses profanity etc. then report immediately.

Re: Somehow..

From my experience....ignoring such msgs and calls always work....if not immediately then still after few days it does....no one is foolish enough to waste their credit on some one who is not bothering to reply or answering the call!!!!
