Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

I was reading through the Hindu mythology and while going through a few resources, I found out this really disturbing paragraph. I’d definitly wanna ask some of my Hindu friends to please clarify on this issue. Does this mean that three trninitarian gods of Hindu mythology were rapists?

“One day the sage Atri was performing tapas with his wife Anasuya. Brahma, Visnu, and Siva came and offered him a boon, but Atri remained silent, meditating. Then the three gods went to Anasuya. Siva had his linga in his hand, Visnu was full of erotic feeling, and Brahma was beside himself with desire, saying to Anasuya, ‘Make love with me or I will die.’ When she heard this coarse speech, Anasuya made no reply, for, although she feared the anger of the gods, she was true to her husband. But they were overcome with delusion, and they raped her by force. Then she became angry and she cursed Siva to be worshipped as a linga, Brahma to be worshipped in the form of a head, and Visnu to be worshipped as feet, in order to ridicule them all, and she cursed them all to be reborn as her sons. Because of this, Siva was reborn as Durvasas.”

Bhavisya Purana 3:4:17:67-78
As translated and commented by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Ya, as if i am watching an adult movie.

Can you give the link, as I have never read any Puran, Bhavisya Puran is totally strange for me.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

^ I do not have any link. It is a translated version of Bhavasiya Purana I have by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. It is really strange for me to know you have not read your religious scriptures tough.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was founder of Hare Krishna movement, ISCON.

So if he has translated this text...it is more important to see the link.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

OK, who is the publisher of this translated version…kindly give complete information!

Though the text can be authentic, I do not doubt!

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

^ What is Hare Krishna movement tough. I have not heard of it before.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

^ Okay, I see this guy is some sort of religious authority as this is what I found on one of the websites about his works in the Vedic translations.

In 1950 Srila Prabhupada retired from married life, adopting the vanaprastha (retired) order to devote more time to his studies and writing. He traveled to the holy city of Vrndavana, where he lived in humble circumstances in the historic temple of Radha- Damodara. There he engaged for several years in deep study and writing. He accepted the renounced order of life (sanyasa) in 1959. At Radha-Damodara, Srila Prabhupada began work on his life’s masterpiece:* a multivolume commentated translation of the eighteen-thousand-verse Srimad-Bhagavatam (Bhagavata Purana)**. He also wrote Easy Journey to Other Planets.*

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

But why you dont want to tell us 'name/ address of the publisher of the book?

Bhagavat Purana is one of 18 Puranas. I want to know if he really translated Bhavisya Purana.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

^ Sir what I have are in fact some photocopy pages and a stamp that I can identify on the last page is something that reads

".......enterprise,
......erch league
...allas, Texas"

Thats all I can tell. And this material is provided to me by one of my Hindu friends who is considering converting to Islam..............

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Hum, I asked you a question anjjan. You are resorting to counter attack.

You your self stated that you have never read any Puran and now you are giving us, within a few moments, a quote from the same book which speaks strange language about Islam. Statements like this fall against you and the teachings of your mythology… and are a clear proof of the hatred that Hinduism spreads about Islam. Your source back fired on you.

That city is known as their site of pilgrimage, a place which was Madina or free from intoxication. Having a form of a ghost (Bhuta), the expert illusionist Mahamada appeared at night in front of king Bhojaraja and said: O king, your religion is of course known as the best religion among all. Still I am going to establish a terrible and demoniac religion by the order of the Lord. The symptoms of my followers will be that they first of all will cut their genitals, have no shikha, but having beard, be wicked, make noise loudly and eat everything. They should eat animals without performing any rituals. This is my opinion. They will perform purificatory act with the musala or a pestle as you purify your things with kusha. Therefore, they will be known as musalman, the corrupters of religion. Thus the demoniac religion will be founded by me. After having heard all this the king came back to his palace and that ghost went back to his place.

A clear proof provided by yourself to show what sort of hatred is taught in Hindu mythology about Muslims and other religions.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Lahore 981,

Please post a link for anything you are trying to portray as religious scripture.

mods, this should be a rule for the religion forum

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

^ It shows that you also have not read Bhvasiya Purana. Don't demand a link from me. You are supposed to know what is there in your scripture, Right. The fact that you have never read it cannot be replced by the fact that there is no link provided by me.Besides, Anjjan has given us a link about Bhavasiya Purana and he has alread shown what sort of language and hatered it is spreading about Islam. I don't think you should demand anymore links now.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

And Lahore981 beats a hasty retreat…:bukbuk:

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

i asked you for the hyperlink, not your nonsensical commentary and laughable attempt at logic.

if i tell you the Quran says that Mohammad was a serial animal rapist using quotes from Islamsucks.com, will you not demand the source? would your idiotic response of “oh, you should know what is in the Quran, you must not have read it” satisfy that demand?

just admit that you are trying to avoid being laughed at for using bogus links, creating fictitious “hindu friends” and pretending to have some “photocopy page” LOL

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Why you compell us to call you an idiot. after your enquiries I got interested in Purana, as well as in Bhavysia Purana....and found this link. Why you find it objectionable...if you could so easily start a thread with a proper intention to call Hindu Gods as rapists.

Still I tell you i do not question the authenticity of the text....but A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada will never translate such a text. That is for sure.

And keep the next theory of your friends conversion upto yourself. Next time come with some proper link, so that we do not call you an idiot.

Is it clear?

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Very interesting................but i am sorry Lahori shahzaday i have to agree with anjan here........true or false its a very serious aquisation and u should back it up with some evidence.
I will not appreciate anyone qouting mysterious lines from Quran.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Have you ever read Bhavasiya Puran?

The method of finding out if something said about Quran is authentic or not, the reference of Chapter number and verse number is required because we all have Quran in our home, translated in many languages and we can instantly check the Chapter and Verse Number. The problem is you have never read Bhavasiya Puran and you want to divert the discussion towards my inability to provide a “Link” when I have specifically given you the reference as Bhavisya Purana 3:4:17:67-78… what else do you need???

Besides, as you said, “if i tell you the Quran says that Mohammad was a serial animal rapist using quotes from Islamsucks.com, will you not demand the source” everybody knows that there is no such mention about Muhammad (PBUH) in Quran. So you’ll yourself proove your allegation wrong. Nobody will demand any reference from you and even if someone does, you’d not be able to provide the Chapter Number or Verse Number and even if you’ll, we can compare it with the correct translation and reference.

I hope that satisfies you.

Re: Some queries about Hinduism, comments appareciated.

Read what you have said yourself. How can you call me an idiot when you yourself claim that you have NEVER read Bhavasiya Puran?

So how can you call anyone idiot when you yourself have no knowledge of Puran yourself. I simply don’t know what does it mean and you are calling me idiot. Are the people asking question about Hinuism treated this way???

  1. Achi baat hai. Do get interested in Bhavasiya Purana. Do read it and provide us the answer for this so called “Allegations”

  2. I do not find your link objectionable. It simply proves you the greatest idiot when you claim that you never read Puran and Bhavasiya Puran is totally strange for you and then choose to show us the text of Puran which shows Islam as a demonic religion etc etc. Dude, it is like someone is saying Hinduism teaches hatred and you are yourself giving a link that shows the bad aspect of Hinduism. This just makes me laugh.

Does that mean he will hide the truth? He has to translate WHETEVER is there in the text without changing it… got it or not…

I just told you who provided me that text. If it is someHindu who is converting to Islam soon, it is not my fault.
