Re: some one takes ur thing to use

Go and get your thing back.

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

others:
if the person is frm ma family, like siblings or even close friends, i go and ask them to return, but if the relation b/w both ov us is formal, i let it go and dont ask for it.

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

forget u ever lend it to someone .....

That really depends on how valuable that thing is.If it is something costly and holds value for me,then i would go and ask for it,but if it is not that much of an important thing, then i would just forget about it.

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

Twist-his-arm to get it back :emmy:

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

you must b a successful person in your life

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

Go and speak to the borrower. Could have been any reason why they still had not returned that:
1. Genuinely forgot to return
2. Lost it
3. If it turns out that the borrower is in more need of that object, they can keep it with them, if justified enough by them

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

If its something expensive, Ill go and get it back.

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

I usually am uncomfortable reminding people other then my kids. I have lost quite a few dishes and silverware to people like this. My younger sis used to take stuff from my closet when we were young and that led to quite a bit of fights. I myself used to love to take my dads shalwar kameez, when awami suits started to be in for men. he would be running around looking for them every friday for juma namaz. My friend called me last week telling me that she found 1 casserole dish and 3 covers in her cabinet that look like mine. I told her just return them whenever she can. she has had them for a year since last years eid.

Depends on how much valuable n useful that thing is...and also how much imp that person is for me n wat sort of relation i have wid dat person...

I lend only to people I know wud bring them back!

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

It depends what things we are talking about here
I once lend my friend £80, he said hes gond giv back in 1 week, after like 3 weeks he never returned so i reminded him, still he neva gav back, so i reminded him again and still no....After that i decided to forget about it! I said to myself this guy got no sharm left, he simply showed his aukaat for just £80! Never asked him again infact i havent spoken to him for a while now! been a yr now!

I mostly dont allow strangers to come close to me or use my things! I only lend it to good ppl and mostly they return it back :)

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

1- Always try to accommodate people's need. (Its a good gesture and is in Quran- Surah Al-Maoon?)

2- A bit disagree with Meena in post # 3. It perhaps should be other way around. Your family has more right on you.

3- Nothing wrong in reminding people unless the item is inexpensive. Be kind, gentle and apologetic if reminding. Its a good habit.

4- Remember who did not return the item. ** Cheap or expensive**. A borrowed item is always a borrowed item. If other party did not have courtesy to remember then there is no need to really trust them again.

5- The conflict may arise from the situation where someone comes asking you for something else when the person did not even return the thing borrowed previously. In that case you have to sit back and think.

Should I trust this person again?

6- If someone is genuinely not able to return items such as the money then give them again and again as much as you can afford or like to help them. Never ask them the money back. (Just be careful of lazy people who just have a habit of asking money, not wanting to work, and asl help from others including you)

^...achay points hei...practical n effective..

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

I prefer not to lend things to anyone :) Saves me of the headache i would otherwise end up having and ofcourse also my precious stuff :D.

Re: some one takes ur thing to use

I've noticed that people only ask to borrow things from you if you frequently borrow from them. Exception to this rule is someone who is clueless, i.e. a uni friend of mine, not very close at all, one day said, "I am soo going to borrow that scarf of yours". How unattractive.

Best thing, everyone keep your things to yourselves.

Other people, stopppppppppppp asking to borrow things like make up, clothes, jewellry, etc. NOT COOL.

It depends who I gave it to and what I gave. In most cases I can see myself asking for it back. However, if they don't return it unless for a satisfactory reason, I would most likely not lend anything to them again.

Umm.. trust me i'm on-topic here.. once we had guests over and the uncle ji had a cold.. so I gave him a nasal spray (new) and while leaving he tried to return it back! Eww!
