Some boy names we had shortlisted for when aariz was born,

Meesum

Adhun (pronounced adh hun) (eden)

Zikriya

Jibrail

Then we gave up... And decided to see what name would fit the baby .. Look wise :D

Aariz we came up with 10 days later. Hehe

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Haadi
Saarim
Nameer
Zaid
Isa
Tauqir

There are the new baby boys in my extended family! ( i dont actually like any of the names that much haha)

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Sparrow... Awww... Dont think too much wether others like ure name... There will always be someone that doesnt.... As long as u both do thats all that matters...

The reason i didnt like the list is cuz some of those names ive never liked and some are so overdone its crazy

Oh i love saarim too... My cousin named her son that.. Got a real good meaning which i have forgotten...

Re: Some of my fav boys names

My mums been watching a drama lately can't remember which one and there is a boy called saarim in it...my mum loves it.

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Haseeb, Haroon, and Owais are nice. But I don't know meanings off the top of my head.

I like Sarim too.

I like Jibril, Bilal, Yousuf, Daniyal (tho too common I think).

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Sparrow go for Saarim!

I dont like it because I know 4 Saarims! But its a nice name:)

I have 2 cousins with names I have only come across in my family.

Obaid

Unaiz

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Saarim has been on our shortlist too. It isn't overdone either. The meaning I have from a names book for it is sharp, energetic, bold, sharp sword, lion.

Re: Some of my fav boys names

My cousin who just named her child said a similar thing, lion, brave and big hearted

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Sahar...i've always liked Bilal too

here are the meanings of the names i put up:

Haseeb: Respected, esteemed.

Haroon : Chief, protector, guard, the wealth of the entire universe, a Prophet known as Aaron in the Bible and brother of Prophet Moses.

Idris: A Prophet, the biblical Enoch/ Henoch.

Owais: Name of a saint

Jahanzeb: Beautiful, Charming

Ishaan/Eshaan: can't find the meaning of this at the moment

Bilal: Water, moisture, freshness, river, sea. A Sahabi i.e. the companion of Prophet Muhammad.

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Ishaan/Eshaan sounds good too, I thought it was an indian name though..

Re: Some of my fav boys names

according to this website it is a muslim name, but I cant be sure!

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Its a muslim name for sure... Recently a fsmily friend's daughter wanted to name her son that ... We all thought it was a hindu name, but when the imam was asked, he said it was indeed a name a muslim child could be called... But the meaning escapes me right now... Will ask her and ger back

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Hey does anyone know whether you need Abdul before Haseeb or whether Haseeb can be on its own?

Re: Some of my fav boys names

I like all the names except for Jahanzeb. Idris i love, its my hubby's name lol although he spells it differently.
Haroon is one of my fave names :)

Re: Some of my fav boys names

I don't really like any of them except Ishaan... is it with a soft I sound or a hard E sound like Eisha?

I also prefer Saahir over Saarim or Saarib.

I LOVE Aariz! :) Such a gorgeous name. I also like Rayyid (not sure how to properly spell it but its pronounced RA-Yid with a strong Y sound), Rohail, and Rohaan. And Jibrael too.

Re: Some of my fav boys names

My cousin is Haseeb, but he does have the Abdul. But everyone calls him Haseeb. Since he's moved the US Abdul has gone as his middle name.

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Yousaf

Ayman

Re: Some of my fav boys names

Choosing boys names is much harder than girl names don't you think? i'm really struggling. I still like Owais but i'm just worried that ppl in th UK will say Oasis like the shop, drink or band.

Has anyone heard of the name Layth? i don;t know if that would go down well with the family.
