mm.. actually the more I think about it irem is right... though perhaps not for the reasons she stated.
As a girl you probabily never got exposed to this but there are a lot of upperclass spoiled rich brats who in their arrogance and just for fun not only put others down but will go out of thier way to harass and make your life a living hell if you happen to be of a lower class in their eyes. Just out of boredom they will go around vandalizing people's property or starting major fights in public against people in no position to fight back.
It is really sick they can be so cruel and indifferent to the hardships of the people around them. These people are so well off and could easily help make Pakistan a better place if they actually cared and tried. Instead they exploit and spit on everyone and live only to feed their own egos and and sick pleasures.

There's nothing you can do. Even as teenagers they are very dangerous and well connected. They have a totally gang/mafia mentality and have access to weapons and can get away with anything because of who their parents are.
It's so disgusting how this kind of behavior was so common and considerabed acceptable.
It wasn't just the guys even the girls thought the things they did were funny. I've seen poor guys get beaten up with lead pipes and thick bamboo sticks in front of everyone while some girls stood and laughed?!! Then these same goondas are thought of as being 'oh so sweet and nice' by these stupid girls? Even the nice people who didn't do this sort of thing themselves thought oh well we're just not into that!? Like oh yeah that's just what they do... like its a past time!?
I could never befriend such people even though often times they were cool with me?!
Gosh suddenly I remember lots of really terrible things I wish I had not seen during my 8 yrs in Pakistan.
