Beaconhouse rulezzzzzz :D

Does Beacon House montessori count?

I've been to some of those comedy theatres. Whats it called again ? Blackfish ?

Chris rock wannabes. All of them.

A hint of Jay Leno and Conan as well. Well, pathetic attempts.

Oh yes.. I agree.. the outfits are very bad. So revealing. :yummy:

A big no no indeed!

its sad but its true, there is a generation paralell to other main streams. i think all they lack is to be proud to have our own culture! all of them just hate it and assume they are from other planet and doesnt belong to Pak.

but who creates it? just blindly following anything will create that kind of extremes, west or east.

i dont think its all their fault how they feel or have become now. all credits goes to the enviroment parents or society tend to provide them with this sham culture that hasnt got roots in Pak but somewhere else or not even there.

deep down its old way of seprating from the commoners regardless without any direction. its a result of two worlds apart people living in the same country.

it will only change when we have more and more middle class and less upper and lower classes in our country. and currently we have only have two major ones, high and lower end of society.

Shak Kills true… :k:

teKno, bullseye  so u’ve been to Blackfish huh? how did u like it…? it was too much for me :halo: i honestly dint see the humor in it…it was just…i dono…not amusing…not my type of comedy…

cw oh man i dint know U were a beaconiite too? dang!!!

irem why you say culture shock? you think that the filthy rich in pakistan couldnt be flamboyant :p? oh and was there any daroo or designer drugs at this pahtay ?

JaGGa not really a shock i guess, just an unpleasant reminder... :)
nah there wasn't any daroo or drugz :D and it wasn't a pahtay it was a show :p

being prude is just as bad if not worse than being a burger.
[/QUOTE]

agreed.

what is the worse a burger can do? stay out of home late, do drugs, drink? a burger only cares or worries about himself. compare that to the average Jamaat-e-Islami (or insert any fundo religious part of your liking/disliking) brainwashed kid. he's bitter 'cause he hasn't gotten any of opportunities that others have had. his life revolves around how irreligious the rest of the population is and how they're going to hell. he worries more about other people than himself.

maybe I'm generalizing or exaggerating but it's still much better being a burger than a JI fruitcake. and I'm certainly not saying that either one of them is the right approach. just way better to follow a lifestyle that doesn't interfere with or affect other people and that is the burger ishtyle.

In fact, it is the burger lifestyle that interferes most with others. The showing off, girsls wearing clothes as if there was a shortage of cloth, their evil habits of free mixing with the opposite sex, all are a bad impact, a negative externality on the society! They are brainwashed by the Western ideas and ideology, in which selfishness rules supreme. Care about your own self and only the life of this world. Who cares others are poor, go to hell or what not. This is exactly what is the difference between Eeman (faith) and lack of eeman is. I may sound blunt but i believe that Burger kind of people are the ones that bring disgrace to the society, the country and finally the muslim ummah as a whole. They neither belong in our culture nor in the West.

Sister irem mentioned about some foreigners in these gatherings. The foreigners in those burger gatherings must be filled with happiness about how cheap Pakistani burger families are for changing their dress, their lifestyle and even their language so easily. How happy they would be in feeling that surely their so called "civilization" is superior to all. And ofcourse how happy they would be to see Muslims like that!

aw come on either extreme is not good! But you cannot blame the problems of society on a bunch of drunk rich brats... they are harmless morons ...I've met the type... if you are so weak to be influenced by their stupidity then you have only yourself to blame.

The religious psychos are definitely more dangerous though. You don't see any burger types wanting to go around and hurt and kill anyone who is not living their lives the way they feel everyone else should.

I only dont like how either extreme looks down on everyone else and if you don't live up to their standards they either think you ar worthless or want to damn you to hell. But I guess if you look at them and pass judgement that kinda makes you no different.

If you don't like certain kinds of people just avoid them.

btw I was in Beacon House for a short time in 3rd grade too in Lahore ! :) I remember they made me a murga for wearing the wrong color sneakers on the first day. They also tried to hit my hand with a stick for getting an answer wrong. :(

and not to mention, the city vs beacon phaddaz, since they were so close, poori team jaati thi jang karney

Spock - city vs beacon...totally classic :D

waqas :)

laeeq i agree with some of ur post...read my reply to sambrialian below :)

sambrialian hmmm these burgers are not as innocent as u think :) there was a little boy, chanay wala, outside KGS. you should have seen how these burgers used to behave with that little poor pathan boy. used to run away with his chanas, used to not pay him, used to make fun of him. a lot of these burgers dont get tarbeeyat from their house and end up becoming mean twisted individuals. if i tell u the sadistic stories about the acts committed by some ppl in my class u'll cringe.
these burgers have the attitude that they can do anything and get away with it coz they've got money.
if our educated people from KGS and Aitchison were so hard working, good and morally upright, Pakistan would have made a lot more progress. Its because these burgers are so luxury loving and instilled with all the wrong values that they can't give back to the country what they should.
some of these are the people running all the big companies in pakistan and sitting at the top spots. they are the ones who dictate our corporate culture. is it a wonder that alcohol is served at most corporate parties?
they've added mayhem and confusion to our urban culture, which if it was not there, our society atleast imho could have made much better progress.
we're too busy debating ideologies right now to let real progress happen.

irem,

Do you think there are [Pakistani] people out there, who think you are too westernized & come into their definition of 'burger'? Maybe just cos they saw you in one instance or another & thought you were too much for them?

ahmadjee yeah totally, my own cousins who live in Karachi have called me burger :o but i know i'm not one :p

burger? Burgers were watching a play? How could burgers watch a play, they have no eyes. It's not a living thing, SHOCKING innit? And what were you doing amongst all burgers? Was it your dream, do you dream of food coming alive all the time?

Irem, yar my point was that it's a very relative term. When I transferred from my P.A.F school (with all press shirt & tie) to an F.G public school ( shalwar kameez & all) where I would walk to school with the same guy who would bring us fresh milk from the neighborhood across the 'nala layee' ... most of my class fellows considered me very 'burger' ... and then I snowed them over & they started calling me ‘jigger’.

I am sure the 'burgers' you are talking about will be considered 'freaks' in the eyes of ABCDs here. Again a very relative judgment!!

So, I say, as long as they are not hurting anyone else let them live their own life and the way they like to enjoy it! They are also part of the culture we live in .. just cos they are different, it doesn’t mean we can call them names. No?

ahmadjee....hmmm...i guess you do have a point :)

as i said earlier though i dont have a problem with burgers, i was just bewailing and bemoaning westernisation of our society in my original post....im sure i am westernised compared to many pakistanis too...but in general i just dont like the trend of westernisation...

but khair, some nice thougts there
