lets make this a sticky so we can discuss any issue we may be having with our pcs here…
for me, when i save any pictures in the picture folder of my documets section, it always make a folder for it along with the file in it and there is also just the pic saved. so in total if i save 1 pic, it wl show that 1 pic n also a folder with that pic inside.
why is it doing that? it doesnt do for word or other documents.

So you mean that it saves that picture 2 times, one in main MY PICTURE folder and one in a subfolder

Do you mean by saving picture from a website? or you mean saving picture from any media that you connect to your computer?
If you mean by website, which browser you use and what OS you have? Also since when it has started doing this? Maybe after you installed / updated anything?
PS: The idea of making PC related problem has been discussed many times before, although I think it will be better if we make a new thread for every problem. It will make GS and other internet users, easy to search and browse to the thread directly, which may also have solution to that problem. Time saving and effective.

what browser are you using? i’m just wondering, maybe look into the settings for downloads. if it’s firefox that you’re using go into Tools → options, look where it saves the pics
still i can’t think of why it’s saving it like that
maybe look into tools → “folder options” in windows explorer and see what the settings are there

We know you have mac. I can see it clearly in you signature and almost all of your posts. Or should I made a thread sticky in which you just say you have mac?

I am just having fun. why are you taking it personally.
By giving her a suggestion to get a mac im already helping her in her future probz . I have used PC for most of my life. Even in office i still have PC workstation. I know the frustration of using it on daily bases crashes loss my data every time.
I didn’t say mac don’t have any problem. they do have also but not as much as IBM based.
I will remove signature . just be happy

LOL I am not taking it personally. Buying mac isnt a solution to most of people because many are not use to MAC OS and also it cost much than the PCs.
I said that only because in every thread, where one has some problem to solve, you come up with this reply.

yeah mac cost more even i can’t afford macbookpro but hackint0sh is there. as far as her problem is concerned she didn’t giv all the detail, as you have also asked her, which os which application or browser. so without all the details how can you give her solution?

ya it does that when i save pics from any website online. i m using windows 7 home premium, internet explorer.
theek hai for the dismisal of making it a sticky makes sense.

try firefox or chrome to save the pics . if problem exists . we can rule out its IE’s fault

But its doing that only for the pictures folder…i just saved on desktop n its perfectly fine.

ohhhhhh…cud be a possibility. just 2 days ago i did the backup…bt y wud it do for this folder only?i do have on my system a seperate drive made for backup.
n its actually saving two files of same pic in the folder it makes.

which backup/sync tool it is .. needs to check its settings .. may be its doing two sync but messing up
