sohnoor vs bargello

ok … ppl on GS are so well informed … i am sure everybody knows of these two sites …

sonoor.com and bargello.com

now my question: why is their such a huge price difference on the jewelery on both sites? even the biggest bridal set on sonoor isnt as expensive as a compartively small set on bargello?

has anyone bought from them, heard of experiences? or knows of the quality difference …

in pakistan i remember looking at the kundan sets from an imitations jewelry shop … and they looked SO BAD and PLASTIC … on the other hand i once bought a kundan set from anarkali (lahore) for only 800 rupees .. and it was a nice full choker kind of thing thing with good sized earing … and everyone asked me if it was real … i dont know where it was made … but i know that the regular artificial jewelry shops in lahore get their stuff from india or dubai … via/via of course … not directly …

and when in india … i bought an artificial set … it was a slightly big solid studded piece … the visual quality of it was way better than those in pakistan … and it cost me about 4500 indian rupees … and i took that to the imitation shops in lahore … cuz you can get these things exchanged … and all of them said there is nothing worth exchanging for it (as in there isnt any silver or gold plating in it) … i dont know whats the reality anymore …

so … pakistani, perhaps silver/gold stuff that doesnt look very well done … or indian stuff that looks great … but has nothing in it worth exchanging …

Re: sohnoor vs bargello

kundun always sounds like a waste of money to me. But what do I know.

i kinda second that … but some of the kundan sets are soooo gorgeous! ughh

but i do like this kind of jewelry wayyyyyyyyyyyy better … what do you call it anyways?

Re: sohnoor vs bargello

^ i think its called naurattan from the fact that a few colored stones are used...

Re: sohnoor vs bargello

That’s a naurattan a set as it has 9 different coloured stones in it.

I think whenever a customer goes to exchange jewelery be it gold/silver or imitation, the jewelers always say that they are nothing worth exchanging for it or may quote a far less price than you expect or as quoted by the original jeweler.

They best way to minimize this would be to go to a reliable shop (recommended by family/friends) and telling them to write down the amount of silver or gold plating in it, the zakat that needs to be paid for it (esp. for gold pieces) and the expected exchange rate if you decide to get them exchanged from them.

I love the sets displayed on Indian, India, Jewelry, jewellery, jewellry, Bridal, Wedding, Kundan, Sonoor and they seem reliable enough. If the jewelery looks as real in person as it does in their pics, then I think you got a good bargain. Remember the questions before buying.

Check these threads out for bargello. Most of these are regarding the clothes that they have but you’ll find info about their customer service as well.
