Re: Soft Coffee

Just watched the video. The original cappuccino recipe does not have so many drops of water but only 2-4 drops depending on the quantity of the coffee. I'm not sure what so many drops of water will do to the taste of the final cup. The yellowish/beige color has to come after beating the coffee with 2-4 drops of water with 2-4 drops max for 1 teaspoon of coffee but one drop at a time. That beating of sugar/coffee will bring out the flavour of coffee. Too much water (like in the video) may spoil the flavour.

pcg, yes the grounded coffee is the filtered one, not beans, remains of which have to be filtered out after being crushed.

Re: Soft Coffee

^ I wonder what will 2 drops of water will do to 1tsp coffee+1tsp sugar in the cup ? :halo:

Re: Soft Coffee

^^ prototype,

I'm sure you can figure that one out once you try it. BTW, drops cannot be measured. So see what's convenient for you. But if you accidentally put more water at once, you won't be able to create the right 'friction' to beat the mixture hence unable to attain the right flavour. The trick it to put enough water which helps you have a hard paste in which you feel the friction while beating and that friction must smooth out with your beating. Once you have a hard paste like mixture which you can beat, stop adding anymore drops. I attain that after adding 4 drops MAX because you cant measure the sizes of drops. The less the water drops, the better.

Re: Soft Coffee

^ we tried this over the weekend and everyone loved it. however, my mamoo ended up with a blister on his finger from mixing for 20 minutes :P.

will it work with a hand mixer or stick mixer as well?

Re: Soft Coffee

LOL! Good to know. But I think, for me, it'll be a very diluted flavor with so much of water while blending.

Maybe for a large number of people, you can try other methods of blending but I used to make only for my uncle and some naughty cousins who used to do 'farmayesh' to keep me engaged beating. I used to run upstairs after hearing the third farmayesh.

Re: Soft Coffee

My first attempt at making this and I totally failed. I put way too much water in it while swirling it and it ended up like normal coffee. I'm trying this again when I have an hour to spare swooshing it around.

Do we have to use sugar or can a splenda be used?

Re: Soft Coffee

another tip- hubby picked up a frother stick from Ikea and used it to make this coffee again last night. it worked! and only took like 2 minutes :).
