if in desi gatherings i feel someone is very different from me in the sense that they’re much more ‘modern n liberal’, and their social behavior is very ‘open’, i just feel really awkward in their company, and i can make an effort to talk normally but i just wish i’d disappear n was never in the situation
this really sucks… coz now that i’m working n stuff…i hafta meet all kindsa ppl…and i wana be normal around them … i dont wana make them feel like i’m unfriendly… plus its not fun to feel awkward…i hate it when i do this… but i just stiffen up automatically … start feeling weird … trapped almost … and i cant seem to help this…its like a reflex reaction
They may feel the same way about you, if you come off as uptight. That way you may come off as unapproachable. We all do it, but if you realise you have this problem, you should try to correct it, keep an open mind. Variety is good
Hmmm. Do you think they won't accept you cause you feel you are different from them? I know I do that sometimes around desis .... feel paranoid cause I don't think i will fit in. You have to give people a chance though cause if you say they are nice, they can set you at ease and slowly you will get over this complex and realise there really isn't anything wrong with you. :p
Have you ever thought about how the other person feels when you get all self-conscious? One of my cousins is like you. You enter her room and it felt like you have committed the biggest crime of your life. She would get all nervous..start looking here and there…She would think for five seconds before replying….
She is so hopeless that when you meet her dil chahta tha zammen khul jay aur mein oss mein qood jaooN..just similar to how I feel when I read your posts...* no j/k ok...*
50-B yeah i’ve always been told that i’m unapproachable…by guys that is…is that a bad thing? some ppl have even said to me that i’m intimidating and snobby i try to be as humble as i can believe me…i despise snobs…but i dont know why this happens

sometimes you have to take the initiative and say hello yourself or just random conversation. Most ppl like to talk, just they are shy or intimadated. Someone has to make the first move.That will shed any image of you being snobby.

i try to be as humble as i can believe me…i despise snobs…but i dont know why this happens
