There were Urdu language poets outside Punjab. In fact, I think india probably had more Urdu speakers than Pakistan though many Indians have left no stone unturned to sankritinize Hindustani

Yeah there had been many urdu poets outside Punjab, no doubt. But it is worth noting that few of the most prominent URDU poets were punjabi’s themselves and thus you can’t deny the contributions made by punjabis for the urdu language.
