Re: So what did you NOT need/use?
That is what was true for me. I am tall but my husband is average. My children take after their dad and they didn’t grow that fast after birth and were on the 50th percentile. I also heard that I didn’t need small sized clothing that much but had to buy them later. It also depends upon how much you care about that sort of thing really. My freind whose daughter was close to 8 lbs too and grew like a weed afterwards bought premie sized too (just a couple) so that the baby would be wearing clothes that fit instead of too big clothing when people came to visit. We didn’t get a lot of wear out of them, maybe a month or two but for me it was worth it. I am a tall broad kind of person but hubby’s side of the family is not, kids take after him. If you do feel the need to buy small size clothing later , make sure you get ones that don’t have feet attached (the kind where you don’t have to put socks on them), you will get more wear out of them. Actually that’s true for all size infant clothing.
