So after a month of begging Kamiar Rokni to finish my dress past the deadline, I received the dress today. I had been asking everyday, sometimes twice, to please send some pictures of it before they sent it over but they never did. They kept saying one thing or another and it just never happened and now I know why. I had asked for an arm band design on the shirt and he even drew it on the drawing–not there. There was suppose to be kaam on the gharara just like the drawing–none. The fitting is awful and as much as I emphasized please make the coat heavy please make the coat heavy–no. There are 3 thin motifs on it versus the drawing show this huge grand amount of kaam and him writing on the drawing, make coat heavy. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed in his professionalism and quality. Has anyone else ever had any experience with him and know how to better handle the situation? I don’t have any sisters and just needed to vent about the disappointment of what my shaadi jora looks like compared to what was offered and told to me.

Very few designers understand how we feel and we usually NEVER get exactly what we want. i have no experience with him but i had never heard any bad comments about him. so sorry this happened to you. if he had promised something and put down in writing i think you can go back and question him about all those things and demand to have it altered, its just not fair! good luck with everything and despite all this i hope you make a beautiful bride!!

Thanks for the comment. It's nice to know someone's listening. I wish I could and if he had it done a month ago as stated on the receipt, there would have been time to go back and get everything fixed. With only a few weeks away now, I don't see that as possible :( It's really upsetting to be spending so much money and now wish I had gone with an HSY instead considering it was the same price and TRIPLE if not more kaam. sigh

Don't worry yumyumyum, all my Karma clothes came out PERFECTLY. It's the best fitting I've ever had along with my Fozia Hammad Valima outfit. I'm sure it will be beautiful, iA.

Hinah789. Did you talk to Kami or whoever took your oder about your dissatisfaction?. If you didnt do that i strongly recommend you do so.

yumyumyum i got my bridal from karma just a few weeks back those guys are pretty hardworking and honest iA yours will come out fine.

Yes, first I was expressing it to please finish it on time, and then at him to please send the pictures before sending it over, and now at the outfit. It makes me wonder if he purposely did not send me the pictures to avoid having to fix it.

The wedding is during Thanksgiving, November 26th. How can I possibly trust to send it back to him and he actually give it back fixed in time. Even for the trial fittings, it took a month when I was there, and after all this delay after giving him four months to make the outfit, I don't think he'd even give it back in time for the wedding.

what about the arm band? was it supposed to be kaam on the sleeves or separately done?if it was separate you can ask him to send it to you. and i think you should at least give him a call and tell him how inefficient he is!

It was supposed to be done on the sleeves. Honestly, I don't think he really cares as he has the money now and I don't live there. Ugh.

I'm hoping that maybe he'll at least send the corrected handbag. We asked for a clutch, it's in the receipt, and I specifically made sure to even say the rectangular kind since I'm not a fan of the pouches. But yes, pouch is what we got. I know that those things are still minor but when overall there are so many things missing, it builds up to such a disappointment.

aww hinah786 relax..nobody knows about your disaster other than you,with all that makeup and jewelery you'll look stunning i'm sure. cheer up now that you have no other option. be happy that you got your dress in time, iA all will go well

I'm not in Pakistan so can't get more kaam done on it to get it fixed :( Also, I'm one of those brides that doesn't want it out till the wedding day and I'm sure my mom would kill me lol

Yeah you could try posting some pictures. maybe it doesn't look so disastrous!! maybe it's actually pretty you could always use some opinions here

And i would suggest you to leave it as it is and don't try getting any kaam done on it or anything it will ruin it further. Just try asking him for a clutch

i understand how u feel..my sis-in-law ordered her walima outfit form maria b and it turned out to be a disaster..then she went with the wrong jewellary choice n all...but in the end all in all she looked gorgeous..so dnt worry,with the jewellary n make-up n ur bridal glow u will look stunning IA...just ask ur MUA to do ur make-up and duppata setting according to ur outift,she will be able to enhance it with her tricks..gud luck dear..
