I know as parents we’re always looking for ideas from each other so we can offer the most well balanced meals to our kids. What I try to do is offer a starch/carb + protein + veggie in each meal. Breakfast has dairy, fruit and protein + starch. Snack is usually fruit or yoghurt. Dinner is same as lunch where sabzi could be veggies in a salad. Milk and a small snack before bedtime.
My kids are very picky eaters and I’ve seen that small portions of a variety of choices helps them enjoy the options and they don’t feel overwhelmed.
forget the kids! ... I love eating like that :D .... small quantities of foods in divided plates ... its just so much fun! and yummy
your food looks great btw... made me hungry.
What black crap? The salan on the left is kaali masoor ki daal. I don't put garam masala pieces in my daily food. That must be a piece of fried onion from the tarka.
Longay/laung = cloves… I use cloves and mace and stuff in my cooking but I mash it all in a grinder so that it turns into powder..my husband doesn’t like whole spices.
If those things end up in my food, at least I fight a big urge not to puke. I still don’t get it that why does one put it in the food if you are to throw it away anyway. It reminds me of my gora supervisor, who ended up going to a marriage in the family of one of his employees at the other store and he ended up with a bunch of garam masala in his mouth. It was hilarious as he told me how small black balls exploded into his mouth leaving a nasty taste!
