So this is a sample of what I feed my kids

Southall, Ealing broadway or Green Street if you are in London. My sister really wants a ‘thali’ but I never let her buy one. She loves the idea of having a section for achaar, salad and yoghurt.

Thalis are difficult to eat out of for me although I love the concept. I like that it gives the child a visual "relief" that she has portions and different food groups and that mommy wants to have some from each group.

Nice idea Niksik :) now if only my nieces would eat all that variety at once. I was baby sitting today and i just about got kidney beans and rice down them :S ps loving the plates and ofcourse the nail colour.

Yum. An idea : a good way to reduce the amount of white rice kids eat is to add a piece of wheat roti/wheat pita with meals - even easier to do in divided plates. You may also want to introduce them to brown rice as early as you can, 'cos the older you get the harder it becomes to change eating habits. After quitting white bread and finding a whole wheat substitute that doesn’t taste like cardboard, my sister is trying to get me to transition to brown rice because of the sugar/starch overload and overall colon health. I put up a fight at first, but it actually tastes good.
