So Moms, how did YOU know...?

hi when i fell pregnant I waited till a missed period and then did a hpt and got a bfp!

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know…?

i got no feeling other than physical… my tummy hurt like hell 2 weeks after my period was over and i was thinking.. what.. dont tell me.. im gonna have my period again so soon? my periods are very regular.. so i didnt know what was going on…

then i started to feel nauseas and i would eat hajmola or drink eno to burp.. it would settle down after that… and then for the final straw.. i kept waiting for my period thinking its due in 2 weeks time when i was already 2 weeks late.. for the first time in my life i forgot what my period date was.. for someone very regular.. it was a bit silly…

so by the time i realized i was pregnant i was already 5 weeks pregnant..

hehe.. and to think i would be more aware of symptoms cuz we WERE trying! :bobo: just didnt think it would happen the first go around.

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know...?

LOL this time around, i had no symptoms whatsoever until the 6th week. I tested because i was going to the bathroom and just thought to do so, no reason whatsoever. And you should have seen my face when it turned positive, Alhamdulillah. Btw, i tested before i was even late, it was a couple of days before my period was due i think.

^are those types of HOME pregnancy tests even available that test few days even before your actual period start date?

i didn't think so.... or i thought that the results were unreliable, until after a couple of days of missed period

congratulations to all the pregnant ladies btw

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know...?

no they are reliable.. depending on the person. but its always best to recheck once u definately have missed your period.

me and hubs tryin since 2 months... my last period was Aug 27 so we are really hopin i get preg now. i took clomid and when the eggs were big enuff, they gave me an injection tht helps in rupturing it. now i m desperately waitin for 27 sep to go for a urine test and i m sooooooooooooo excited!!!! i m married since 3 years and we didnt want baby then, but i guess its high time now!
frm the time i took clomid ive been waitin for 'signs'... the only sign i got was 2 days back... terrible back pain for some hours and a little pain in the area where the vagina starts (its uterus??? i dunno??!)just below the navel area. but that was not consistent. like i had it 2-3 times that day but now i m ok! but this back pain thing... its weird cus i get this terrible back pain on the day when my period starts or 1 day before it. like whenever i have a really bad backpain i know i m gonna bleed... so i m confused!! what do u all think?

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know...?

A positive hpt can rarely be false. Testing before your period is only unreliable if its negative before you are due but you are indeed pregnant and the test doesnt show it yet.

shudnt this thread be in health and fitness?? i m amazed no one pointed this out before :p

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know...?

you CAN get hpt that can b have very accurate results even before ur period date,
as for me the first time i did have a feeling, its kind of hard to explain but this time it was a very diff story it wasnt planned but watever Allah SWT does HE does for the best, i think i was trying to ignore it this time, but now im just sooo happy about it n cant wait for baby to b born

For me - it was this icky feeling, I felt like vomiting a billion times over and over and over - for about 4 to 6 hours. The uncomfortable part was -I JUST NEVER VOMITED. Very weird.

and then I started to hate the smell of chicken and shrimp. I did not touch, cook, eat chicken/shrimp for the next year and a half.

poor hubby had to sneak in at my mom’s place to get hold of the chicken :cb:

Well a missed period is definetely a good sign for me. The feeling would be a bit crampy like, as if you'd get your period soon, but perhaps a little bit more crampy. If you don't take a test right away after you miss your period, you may start feeling tired or become a fussy eater. or just throw up!

It doesn't always happen right away but the feelings and changes start happening within the 1-2 months of pregnancy for sure.

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know...?

yeah i get "the feeling" often but i think my feeling is more fear than anticipation of a positive test :p

i'm just trying to eat healthy, get into shape, lose the last 10 lbs, drink lots of water, take my vitamins and folic acid... honestly, there is way too much to think about and get done! its stressing me out. the plan is for me to go off the pill in january iA and its whenever/whatever from that point on, although a summer birth would be ideal as mum is a teacher and would be able to fly in then on school vacay.

hey you're in Toronto like me!! I'm in Brampton.

I think a summer baby would be nice, especially if you're mom can come out and help you. That would be SO NICE!!

Re: So Moms, how did YOU know…?

Haha ya for me :CareBear: Ive been 100% convinced Im pregnant numerous times this year. I thought I had so many different symptoms (showing up when I was only a few days late lol) and took about 5 tests within a span of 3-4 months and even went to the clinic for a blood test because I didnt trust the big fat negative the stick test kept giving me :smack:
