Doesnt swing the ball too much.
Line and length is mmm k. nothing great.
Not fast enough either. (not that being fast is any excuse to have a poor line and length)
I just assume he’s in the team for the slogs?
personally, I prefer Rana Naveed over Razzaq. Its a blessing in disguise for the Rana that Razzaq is going away to play county.
he is in the team just coz rashid latif favors him.oh n abt the slogging, that everyone can do like afridi, sami, shoib akhter…..and there is a big list. I think razzaq is a wastage of time.

Razzaq is much better slogger than Afridi, Sami or Shoaib. His bowling has not been great, especially after recovering from last injuries.
couldn’t agree more with u guys he is rubbish and a mediocre player. there are plenty of good all rounders in our pakistani domestic league who should be chosen on merit instead of choosing abdul as he is captains favourite player or anyone else’s for that matter.
hmmm.. interesting. He never really impressed me too much. The World Cup Review Committee report seems to agree with me on Razzaq's performance.
And thats about the only part I find credible in that 32 page report.
Never impressed you?
Did you ever watch the World Cup 1999? Maybe Pakistan tour of Australia 1999/00, he was such a class act! Saved us in so many batting collapses and bowling wise was economical.
2000 was his prime. He played splendid throughout the year.
It's kind of funny, he has played in two World Cup's, and is still declared a youngster, and chances of being dropped. Someone cappable of playing in two World Cup's deserves some recognition.
People talking trash about Razzaq may need to take a trip to memory lane to Carlton & United Series in 2000, where he destroyed the Aussies with both bat and ball.
He is the kind of batsman, who you can send anywhere in the team.
Wasim Akram even opened with him once.
He can be an opening batsman, #3, middle order, late middle order in the batting department.
He can open the bowling for Pakistan, come in middle order bowling, and is very useful in the death overs.
If a bowler doesn't take any wickets in a one day match doesn't mean that he is a bad bowler, as long as you can be economical and give around 3.5 to 4 runs an over, you are a useful bowler.
Yes Currently he is out of form of late, but he will recover just like every good cricketer.

We'll see. He's been out of form for the past couple of years now.
And yes, he did play some match winning innings..but they're only a handful.
I am very happy for Rana Naveed. Lets see if he can cement his place in the team. He bowled brilliantly at Sharjah with his yorkers and good line/length. And i hope he improves with the passage of time.
Yeah he is talented but he needs to mature his approach and attitude towards game.He seems like a dead player and my chacha calls him a Ricksaw .Who just starts while he is batting or bowling. If he would have been SMART not in looks , otherwise; he would have been the worlds no 1 allrounder. In my personal belief Azhar Mehmood is better among all.
I have no idea what most of the people here are talking about. Razzaq is an excellent all rounder. One of the very few genuine all rounders to grace the game. He can win matches with that bat or ball. If all the crap was said about a new player its understandable but Razzaq has proved his mettle. He emerged as one of the brightest stars in WC '99. Mind you Klusner stole the show in that world cup by some excellent all round performances and Razzler was still able to get noticed by some sparkling performances. With a carrer ODI batting average of 28.13 and bowling average of 26.48 he had proved himslef as a genuine all rounder. There certainly is more improvement needed as I think he still has not played upto his potential. Hopefully in the coming years he will become a more dependable player for Pakistan cricket team.

my 2 cents.

not fat enough? LOL u make funny comments ppl who ball from 80-90 mph are called medium fast just like most of the bowlers invlucidng wasin and waqar.
as ehasn sahab said the guy is jsut out of form and i cant agree with ur comment about poor line ang length. he is one of th bowlers who can actually stick to good line and lenght. just because he is out of form does nto mean that he is 'poor'. he is not an opening/strike bowler and he is suposed to keep the runs in control and from that pont of view even now i have not seen any problem with his bowling (some times he has been expensive). as an all rounder he is a gd batsman as well
please do remmber that he is an allrounder and not a specialist :p
my 1 cent ;)
Abdur-Razzaq was very impressive in the last world cup but this world cup was a failure for his career...
but now he is performing as a senior player (not that senior) but still he is able to score runs and bowl good... so sharjah tournament can lift his spirit to perform well in the further tournaments...

a lot of guys did amazingly well in the '99 world cup because the team was clicking and winning matches as a whole.
Most of the same guys have seen their performances fall ever since. Razzaq including. Age factor can be blaimed in the 2 W's case..but whats the reason for Razzaq. last time he really came through in a competitive torunament was when he won the harley in austrlia.
like I said, we'll see when he will lift his performance. but currently he's in the dumps. Nothing too great about him. rana Naveed bowled better than him at sharjah, IMO. he should be given more chances to see if he's better than razzaq. Compeition will only improve Razzaq mind you. needless pampering won't.
The guy played excellently in this sharjah cup, his batting was superb to say the least, What do you mean he is still going through a bad patch?
The guy is class, like ehsan said.
even if you do regard him as a pinch hitter, well he is better than afridi, and other pinch hitters who have come and gone from the pakistan team, he can bat at any position, and is down to earth and willing to listen and learn, I say we havent got enough razzaqs in the team.
The same people will be kissing his a$$ in a short while even though he is still playing good right now.
