snow is haram?

I heard that canadian snow is haram because we have distilleries in the country that evaporate alcohol leaving the falling slow ladden with alcohol. So what must one do to protect their faith?

Re: snow is haram?

Don't eat or snort the snow.

Re: snow is haram?

I'd say stop breathing as well... too much alchohol in the air in the big TO.

Re: snow is haram?

1) Do not walk on the snow
2) Do not look at it
3) Do not let the flakes fall on you
4) Do not make a snow man
5) Do not take snaps of it

but the kitty is allowed to eat it and play with it :D

Re: snow is haram?

Especially, do not make a snow-man... that's idol worshipping :D After all we MUST protect our faith.

Re: snow is haram?

Making a snowman is also forbidden because it is mimicking the kuffar. Building a snowman is not sunnah.

Re: snow is haram?

Now you get it. :)

Re: snow is haram?

Building a snowman is not sunnah so its haram ? whats that suppose to mean, ?
i guess driving, playing cricket, drinking water in nestles bottle and alot of other things rnt sunah either..... we might as well stop doing that too ..........

Re: snow is haram?

Do not touch the snow as well
Do not take pictures

:omg:

Re: snow is haram?

Do not make snow angels as that is idolatry.

Re: snow is haram?

Imam Ali a.s said, if i know that a drop of alcohal is droped at land and then grass grew up thier which was eaten by goat, and goat gets slaugtered ( zibah i think thats the rite word) properlly and then goat was cooked and then i am offered a peace of meat of that goat, i Wudnt eat that .......
(offcourse i didnt use exact same wording)
thats how bad alcohal is .... soo i think a person shld be careful, as much careful as much he can, but i dunt think that snow is haram !!!!!

another example .... Swedge lines in some places r open, specially in pakistan... now that nijaas water evaporates in air .... which then rains .... that means if u get ur clothes wet in rain water, then u cant pray in em, but i havent heared any scholar saying that rain water is nijas , instead i've heared An angel comes with every rain drop and am not sure if that applies on snow as well.
We can think either way and declare it haram or halal which means we dont have enough knowledge and ALLAH knows the best, Islam is very simple ..... i dunt think that snow shld be haram but ask some scholar !!!!

Re: snow is haram?

See brother, even according to your explanation, angels have to put up with alchohol vapours. I feel bad for them.

Re: snow is haram?

Yea lol........ sometimes we think just little too much and makes think complicated for ourselves !!!!!!!!!!! i guess the reason of angel coming with every rain drop is to keep rain drop Pak and saaf .... however thats just my opnion

Re: snow is haram?

The answer to this is simple.

We have become what the Bani Isra'el once were... Petty detail mongers who just had to ask so many details about the cow it became almost impossible for them to find it. Now wouldn't that be a good moral to learn a lesson from.

Re: snow is haram?

In an average storm over 1 trillion rain drops fall. In a large monsoon it could be over 100 trillion rain drops. Are there that many angels or do they fly back up after they hit the ground and fall again during the storm?

Re: snow is haram?

I am not really sure about that myself, I wud have to ask someone with some knowledge,,,,, however i wudnt be surprised if someone tells me if there are that many angels, i dun really have a reason not to believe it ..............

Re: snow is haram?

Throw kankar (rocks) at the snow it is the devil.

Re: snow is haram?

Wrong way to go about it bro :)

Re: snow is haram?

Peace All

Just a scientific note on alcohol vapour it's boiling point is much lower than water which means even when snow forms it and falls it should only turn the surrounding moist air in to more snow and the amount of alcohol will be so minute. Also the alcohol is only partially soluble in water which means even less will be present in the ice or snow as it falls. As it only surrounds the ice it should re-evaporate soon after a bit of warmth comes across.

Also there are photochemicals and ozone that will probably breakdown the alcohol into radicals anyway.
