Re: snow is haram?
You may make a snowman but not in the image of Muhammad. If you do make a snowman in the image of Muhammad you must collect the water from it when it melts and boil it 3 times and then sell it as Holy Water to the highest bidder. You may keep 30% of the profit and bury the rest that following Spring on the ground of where that snowman had been errected.
Re: snow is haram?
And while you may write volumes about how physically beautiful the snowman is and should mimic every single thing the snowman does, DO NOT take a picture or make a painting of it and DO NOT sing to it or dance around it.
Re: snow is haram?
Is saying the word "snow" permissible?

Just a scientific note on alcohol vapour it's boiling point is much lower than water which means even when snow forms it and falls it should only turn the surrounding moist air in to more snow and the amount of alcohol will be so minute. Also the alcohol is only partially soluble in water which means even less will be present in the ice or snow as it falls. As it only surrounds the ice it should re-evaporate soon after a bit of warmth comes across.
Also there are photochemicals and ozone that will probably breakdown the alcohol into radicals anyway.
I thought water and ethanol are fully miscible and that it gets harder to evaporate ethanol from a mixture with water as the ethanol concentration falls. Also ethanol is only 2 carbons covalently bonded--wouldn't it be very hard to break into radicals?

Alcohol is the common name for ethanol
Ethanol — Boiling Point: 78.4 °C (351.6 K)
According to Ethanol - Wikipedia
I did mean BP not MP because it is the BP that will determine when the vapour will become a liquid … The alcohol should freeze at normal atmospheric pressures at -114 C or there abouts. This means throughout the water-liquid and water-ice phase the ethanol should remain liquid. It will become something else way before it decides to become precipitation but even so if it does rain ethanol it will probably do so when the water is still thinking about it. I meant that they don’t mix readily … the scenario was somewhat an artifical one in the first place.
Sulphur Dioxide on the other hand will mix with water and form sulphuric acid quite readily.
Re: snow is haram?
Is there an Arabic word for snow? Come to think of it, could you imagine trying to write your name in Arabic in the snow?
Re: snow is haram?
there are several words for snow in arabic.
and actually writing in arabic is not really that tough.
in terms of number of lines or directional movements while writing, my name is much easier to write in arabic than in english.

Miscibility data you have quoted needs to be in context to the temperature and pressure ....
Ethanol can be separated from water simply by flashing the mixture. Distillation ... The process of snow is the reverse of this ...
Radicals are likely to form on the C - OH bond ... What are talking about only 2 carbons covalently bonded?
Re: snow is haram?
I heard that canadian snow is haram because we have distilleries in the country that evaporate alcohol leaving the falling slow ladden with alcohol. So what must one do to protect their faith?
***So it seems Y'all have not seen or heard:
*****DO NOT EAT YELLOW SNOW...........................:D
Also they say around airports or the approach airways it is known:
You do not eat BLUE ICE ...........................:D
any one know why?
