snotty looks from parday walian

ok i’'ll try to be brief.

this was umm sorta my first experience with parday walian at my uni. the hijabans who hang out at the MSA at my uni have a reputation of being all attitudy and they have this attitude that if your not a hijaban muslim, you are inferior than them. now this was something new for me the other day.

my friend and i were in the meditation room, trying to study, when a couple of parday walian came in. they started eating their lunch, and then one of them left. and the other was on her cell. (oh btw, i’m not a hijaban, but my friend is). then the first one came back, and then slowly, a whole bunch of them came in the room, and started talking really loudly. it was really bugging my friend. she said to me that you can’t even tell them to be quiet because then they would say “just go to the library” (our library can seat only an ant, not a human being, that is how it is crowded. and it is perfect for talking, not studying.). then a couple of our other friends came, and then they forced her to move and study together at a different place. as i was getting up and leaving the room, i just glanced at the niqab walian, and they were looking at us, checking our progress as we left the room. and belive it or not those two were giving us pure snotty looks. you know, the whole higher than thou. i couldn’t believe it.

umm…so yea, that is my rant. ridiculous really. i mean, do people really have to be biatches over that. or am i just that gullible and seedhi that i wouldn’t expect something like this from niqaabans?

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

Whoa! Most of my hijabi and niqabi friends are really nice and sweet. Even the Muslimahs who come to the prayer room are very nice and polite. I hope they change their attitude towards you and everyone else and that it all turns out good, insha'Allah.

Btw.. if its a prayer and meditation room, then generally speaking they should keep it down just in case some needs to offer salah or recite the Quran.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

You are going to come across that at times...best thing to do is hold ur head up high and really not give a damn.. People who are empty inside, feel the need to look down on others to feel better about themselves....

Honestly not even worth a look over your shoulder..

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

maybe they were just bitches and it had nothign to do with thier niqabs…
but yeah i know wat u mean..i had good experiences with hijabis since i started college but the 1s i knew in high school were total bitches. a total stranger came upto me and said “allah’s gonna burn you”

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

I think an old fashioned jello in a bathtub wrestling match between you girls should settle it once and for all. :k:

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

I can see it now...hahahahahha but dont you know Matsui, jello isnt halal...no no...cant be wrestling in non-halal jello...it shall have to be Rafhan Jelly!!

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

just b/c she wears a hijab doesnt make her a saint. girls in hijab can be bitches also

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

another one of those hijab/non-hijabi threads....

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

why didn't u ask them "what u lookin at?"

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

Btw.. it goes both ways. Non-hijabis often give dirty looks to hijabis and niqabis and look down upon them.

Doesn't mean we should go generalizing and calling each other b****es.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

This isnt just about hijabi or non hijabi...its about our 'pakistani' need to reject and look down at something different from ourselves.... Dont simplify the issue and toss it aside.. Even the other way, Girls giving attitude Hijabis it makes you wonder, WHY?? I mean it just makes me worry about all those girls who are that insecure....

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

^ I agree.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

i am so sick n tired of hijabi vs non hijabi topics. just goes to show how we muslims can never get along. no wonder we are in the shape that we are right now.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

hmm it really isnt just limited to being pakistani… so lets not generalise a whole race either

its to do with ones insecurity… maybe the Hijabi girls standing there are insecure bout themselves hence in a way of making themselves look better they were snickering about Khumar… maybe Khumar is insecure bout the way she dresses… maybe its neither… maybe its all a misunderstanding.. and the hijabis were discussing how great Khumar looks… who knows

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

maybe they were jealous because she was studying and getting something done with her life :)

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

What has hijaab to do with girls' attitude and behaviour????

Bitches are bitches!!and thats just a fact!hijaab doesnt prevent ppl from not being a bi*tch!!

I wear hijaab and know many others who do so too. Not all of them are the nicest gals. The worst girl I ever knew (talking about her selfish nature) was one who perached way too much about islam and wore one huge chaddar at uni!!

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

hmmmm

yaar u cant put em all in one group Khumar coz every individual is different

its not like every girl in hijab or niqab wil always behave nicely to others. u know?

during college i used to spend majority of my time with hijabans, i am a non hijabi myself. my experience has been positive. i mean they were always nice to me and they wee my good friends.

but then again, i also know of girls who wear hijab who can sometimes be mean. there r all types of girls who wear hijab. so it really depends.

but i also think that us non-hijabis sometimes get a bit too defensive around hijabis and r overanalytical abt hijabis and think that they r lookin down at us when they r not in reality.

khayr dont worry abt it too much, its not a big deal :)

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

They are people first and hijabans next. Come on folks get over it.So just because they were rude its because they're hijabans?

We keep generalizing like this, we'll need to start jumping over cliffs.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

^ most people get that hijabs have nothing to do with it and you can see that by the responses here.

Khumar, girls will be girls .... people are like that regardless of race, religion, etc. It's called insecurity. Just ignore it ... rise above it.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

you know I don't know why we love to hate each other, I mean at the end of the day all I care about are Muslims. I will never hate or dislike any Muslim no matter what as long as they are MUSLIM and only MUSLIM, everyone else can go to hell (which they will)!!!!
