Re: snotty looks from parday walian

Oh my! you are capable of rising above your perceptions and giving people the benefit of the doubt, that’s a great thing.

Why not take it a step further?
What about considering ALL people with the same love and respect as you say you give to all muslims… it will go a long way towards making the world a nicer place.

After all, the same Allah made us all…

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

ummm I have thought about that but NO, NEVER!

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

Hijab has become a fashion accessory in some circles. I remember when i was in Uni and hearing some hijabbans talking about/with their boyfriends. You knew they were hiding it from their parents. But didn't they think that you can't hide anything from Allah? Purity is in your heart. Religion is about a personal relationship each person has with God, not donning some outward symbol of religion.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

It works both ways girl.

I’ve seen pant shirt wearing whores (not saying all are whores but most I’ve come across) look down on my Hijaabi and Niqaaabi sisters as backward ninjas, they bitch about them behind their backs and to the goriyaaN so that goriyaaN will start accepting them in their groups, they’re not strong enough to live by their religion so they put down those who do because they are a constant reminder of their own shortcoming, maybe they're better Muslimah over all but in regard to Hijaab the Niqaabis are better.

It happens with beards as well, I was out one night and I got talking to this guy, first thing he said was “bro are you from up north back home?” I’m like "yeah", he sayz “yeah you look it but how come you’re clean shaven? It suits you, people round your end are pretty backward aren’t they? The blokes all have beards and your women cover up” I’m like “yeah it’s true but despite that our looks will piss over your crippled bodies, shrivelled up prune faces and hooked noses any day” That shut him up.

It’s your own insecurity that's why you're generalising all the bad things to Hijaabis and putting them down as a group, I’ve had people talk about the superiority of a bearded face over a clean shaven one but I don’t argue with them coz I know full well that that’s what my religion says even though I shave myself, I humbly accept that it’s pretty effeminate of me to do so.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

:k:

Ninjas and turbinators are cool, same with the brothers, I’m far from religious myself but the religious brothers treat me like a real brother, even if they see me after two days they’ll hug me like they’ve not seen me in years even though I barely know them, just see them at Dars or Salaah whilst my non-Muslim friends who I grew up with and I spend most time with are not half as close.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

You go girl!!! Keep up the Muslim pride!!! :k:

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

ive noticed, girls with hijab tend to get more respect from muslims/nonmuslims alike, for not compromising on thier belief for the sake of it, as compared to those who try very hard to conform to the west in every aspect just to fit in. This obviously pisses some conformist and hence they feel the need to bitch. Of course on the other hand, there are prolly some hijabis who cud outdo them in bitching, but ive yet to meet them i think.

anyways just my keen observation.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

*itching, snotty looks, arrogance, pride occurs amongst all kinds of people, hijab or no hijab, beard or no beard..practising muslims or non practising but people get shocked because they think that those with hijab are like angels and the rest.

but the thing is they may just be wearing hijab because of family/peer pressue. they maybe wearing hijab because they know its obligatory but they dont yet understand the entire concpet of hijab because hijab for a woman is also the way she carries herself and once the ladies don hijab they should remember they are an ambassador for Islam and that there actions definitely do speak loud than words.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

omg! :smack: this isn’t about the hijabis! i have hijabi friends, i have dealt with that issue. and this isn’t about pakistanis. those two niqaab walian were not pakistanis. and im not insecure about my dressing :bummer: i think i dress pretty normally…like people are supposed to.

i was just saying that perhaps it is me who is like that. all simple and seedhi saadhi, with typical stereotypes. that when you see a niqaab wali, she has possibly gone beyond petty things and is actually a nice person. i mean hijab is different, but niqaab, that is a big thing in my opinion. but i mean, really, snotty looks, from anyone is just stupid.

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

wait a sec...

how cud u see their snotty looks from behind the niqab????

Re: snotty looks from parday walian

oh opps i forgot to mention that by the time we were getting up they had removed their niqaabs.
i wonder if they pulled it back up when one of our friends, who is a guy came in :konfused:
