This World has at least 30% smokers and they are treated like wildlife in third World. First Airlines and Airports banned smoking, and people like me went out to find alternative ways of traveling. Now, major hotels, restaurants and food chains are banning smoking. Where this World is heading any way? Do politicians want some war with smokers or they just want them to die well before they get the imaginary cancer. Public place for politicians is a place where no smoker can dare to enter. Even at some places there is a separate place for smokers, it is so disgraceful. A smoker must be as free to smoke as non-smokers are free not to smoke.
Re: Smoker's rights
imaginary cancer??
Re: Smoker's rights
A regular smoker (this exclude puffers) definitely dies when not allowed to smoke for some hours. So for him that cancer is imaginary (unseen).
Re: Smoker's rights
The cancer is real, the death is imaginary.
Re: Smoker's rights
On any database of patients having cancers, there are more non-smokers than smokers. So why not restrict every one to smoke, then?
Re: Smoker's rights
Smokers have no rights.
Re: Smoker's rights
This means this World belongs to non-smokers and smokers must go to Mars and other planets.
Re: Smoker’s rights
Second-hand smoke is more lethal and affects non-smokers more.
A little something to read:
A series of studies have now shown that non-smoking wives are at increased risk of lung cancer from prolonged exposure to the smoke produced from the cigarettes of their husbands, if the husbands smoke. The greatest risk, approximately twice the normal low risk in non-smokers, comes from the exposure to husbands who smoke 20 or more cigarettes a day at home. Prolonged exposure to the smoke of others, in for example, the working environment, also increases risk, and this increase may apply not only to non-smokers, but to smokers as well. Particularly at risk are young children, as it has already been demonstrated that children exposed to the smoke of their parents have increased risk of respiratory infection and it has even been suggested that mothers of unborn children exposed to the smoke of others, have a greater frequency of low birth weight infants than mothers not so exposed. Health Canada figures estimate that every year at least 330 non-smokers die from lung cancer due to exposure to secondhand smoke.
Re: Smoker's rights
Such studies are conducted by people who failed to get a job in tobacco industry.
Re: Smoker’s rights
Actually, in most restaurants/bars/clubs/non-smoking buildings, etc. they have designated smoking areas/tents set up for smokers especially in the summer time. They just can’t smoke inside where they will affect everybody else. In fact, a lot of smoking co-workers at my office relish in the fact that they can go on their smoke breaks outside for 15 minutes two or three times a day. They don’t seem to have a problem with it.
Re: Smoker’s rights
Agree with CM. Smokers (apart from sheesha smokers
) should have no rights, other than the right to be ostracised and excluded from regular, healthy society.
Us normal people should not have to tolerate smoking freaks (apart from sheesha smokers
) polluting out surroundings ![]()
Re: Smoker's rights
Are there even any smoking laws in Pakistan to protect the public?
Re: Smoker's rights
Smokers have every right to smoke, but please take it outside.

When people get lung cancer, people say, 'Did you smoke?""

Susan Mantel was executive director of Joan's Legacy, a cancer research fundraising group named for Joan Scarangello, a non-smoker and former head writer for newsman Tom Brokaw. Scarangello died in 2001 of lung cancer, as did her nonsmoking mother before her.
Re: Smoker's rights
That is so disgusting to move to a place to smoke.
Recently smoking is banned in restaurants and hotels.
Re: Smoker's rights
Every thing pollutes this World, even humans. Then why humans are not banned on this planet?
Re: Smoker's rights
Almost all big food chains in Lahore don't allow smoking and there is a fine to someone smoking in public place (but it is not implemented yet).
Re: Smoker's rights
umer bhai, smokers need to move to smoke just like lovers need a room or a car's back seat. nome sane?
Re: Smoker's rights
Yes it can be said but lovers are free to enjoy in restaurants and more exclusively in hotels. I was in a hotel room (some months back) and they were using smoke-detectors and I had no idea about it. I started smoking and after just 2-3 minutes the door was knocked and I felt like I am a thief. This World is dominated by non-smokers perhaps.
Re: Smoker's rights
The problem is that the world hasn’t invented a condom for the cigarette yet.
