Smoker's rights

Re: Smoker's rights

But it does not mean they must condemn it. Well-over one-fourth population of this World smoke.

Re: Smoker's rights

shmoking is only kewl if u know making o0O()()()()z .. or if u puff it like WE do :D

Re: Smoker's rights

Smoking is a vile habit. Look if you really want to kill yourself put a bullet through your head, just don't try to kill me as well passively.

Re: Smoker's rights

Who says smokers deserve rights?

Re: Smoker's rights

Smoking can be a vile habbit but smokers must have their share in this World. This World is not created for non-smokers, and smokers must be respected and laws must not be made to make their lives miserable. Smokers are good citizens than non-smokers as they pay extra taxes.

Re: Smoker's rights

umer bhai how abt signing up a petition ;) .. m not a smoker yet but who knos ...... :)

Re: Smoker's rights

Nice Idea, I loved it, but Sheikh Rashid is never going to accept it as he has a long history of relations with NGOs and most of them are running campaigns against smoking as it is the only BAD thing in Pakistan. (Some other issues are there too)

Our petition might never get the responses and support NGOs get. It requires a lot of money and political support someway to create public awareness and thus acceptance of petition.

Re: Smoker’s rights

That is so true. As smokers have right to smoke, non-smokers have right not to smoke as well. Smokers can smoke in their own private places. But I agree, it is pathetic to ask smokers to go to a smoking room to smoke. Usually the rooms are so full of smoke that you don’t even feel like smoking.

I quit smoking a couple of months back and after that I had a bad throat for a month. I am sure smoke has some anti-bacterial properties.

Re: Smoker's rights

Hmm, it may be cause your throat and associated muscles were not having enough exercise, that one provides them when he smokes.

Re: Smoker's rights

No! I mean real sore throat right after quitting smoking. I think it is nature's revenge for betrayal.

Re: Smoker’s rights

This is exactly my opinion as well. Umer bhai, you claim to have the right to smoke wherever you want. But don’t you think people like me have the opposite right?

As a non-smoker I try to avoid rooms that are dedicated for smokers. But if there is no dedicated room or space for them, then I’m exposed to it wherever I go. Whether I want that or not.

So do you think that would be fair?

Re: Smoker's rights

Umer bhai,

I agree with you a bit and most genuine smokers never smoke when they know some one will be disturbed. But it does not mean that they must live the their lives in a room or scorner-side of restaurants.

Even people won't let someone smoke there. Some days back, I went to a restaurant with friends and we were sitting in smoker's area. After finishing our meal, we started smoking and suddenly one person came to us and told us that here is a family and they are disturbing cause of smoke. We left the restaurant just at the time and it is definitely on our banned list now. It is the stupidity of that family and the management. If they were so allergic to smoke then they must have selected some place in non-smokers area or they must have waited.

Re: Smoker's rights

Chnage in diet may be another reason for soar throat. When some one is used to certain diet for long time, and then that diet changes it has some impact on the body.

Re: Smoker’s rights

MS, you can take that sheesha along with a huqqa and stuff it where sun does not shine. If I ever see you, I will make sure that you get a full whiff of my cigs. You can count on that. :smokin2: :smokin: :smokin: :smokin2: :smokin:

Re: Smoker's rights

Genuine Smoker refers to someone who can't survive without smoking.

Re: Smoker's rights

Smokers should be shot. After all, there will be plenty of smoke in hell.

Re: Smoker’s rights
