Re: smiling at guys.
Inspi, its actually your subscious mind stopping you to smile back at guys since you know that you are looking to get married and you have permission from your parents to look out for potential mate. You will continue to feel uncomfortable with guys who seem to be a good match to you. You might find no problem with smiling back and making friends with guys from other religion and nationalities since you won't consider them as potential mates.
Just stop thinking about your hidden aim of finding a suitable mate while you are out and just be yourself. And I know, you ARE a very very friendly person. So just be a good person which you already are and live your life without anything in your mind about finding a suitable person. If you are destined to meet your soulmate accidentally :p you will end up meeting him somehow. Stop consciously looking for someone with this objective in your mind.
Wese, how was that last guy who smiled at you? ;)
thanks Ashy thats very good advice, i never thought of it in that way!
I will deffo try it out!
Re: smiling at guys.
Inspiron! Ur topic post sounds exactly like my life story! (minus the lovely part about you doing placements in a hospital where youre surrounded by a sea of eligible young desis lol) i have two thoughts on this. 1) we defo need to overcome this weird shyness and try (not in vain this time!) to forget past rejections. (it helps to pretend they were gay anyways lol) and 2) smile back! Or if theyre your new colleagues now, just say "Hi :)", makes the smile seem more genuine, and helps overcome that awkwardness of a silent smile which i unfortunately only manage to give to women or old men who remind me of my grandfather... Ok so theres no hope for me, but save yourself while you still can! And update us on the progress, you might just inspire me to look less grumpy lol.
Re: smiling at guys.
Someone is seriously in limbo. A smile is exactly that a smile. Just be yourself and you’ll be fine. Start chatting to them if they’re new co-workers. It will build your confidence chatting to a load of different people.
I always get the older ladies smiling at me… ![]()
Re: smiling at guys.
