Re: smiling at guys.
LOL , without fobs there will be no ABCDs , BBCDs, CBCDs, WBCDs and NYBCDs.
Exactly! Just because someone is a new immigrant doesn't make them a pervy or tharki as most people seem to imply that FOBs are. You have just as many ABCDs who are no different, they just have a different way about their pervyness...
Re: smiling at guys.
Exactly. It is a fact.
But yes many young and old fobs have different view of desi female smiling at them. They will either shy away, creep out , will try to take advantage or form a bad opinion about that female. Some will not think much of it though.

And ABCDs be your children.

Re: smiling at guys.
I really want to get over this sillyness.
Tomorrow at work I am going to smile at everyone :) ESPECIALLY hot guys
Re: smiling at guys.
In inspirons defense, yes I HAVE come across men who took a polite smile as an invitation to be total perverts....in Pakistan they say "woh hansi toh phansi" or something like that....if u ever notice, most women have a very serious expression on their face, as if they're angry or disgusted or something...very few friendly faces ull see out in public, specifically for that reason I mentioned.. so yeah, some people can be total idiots and misinterpret a smile completely.

Have you watched Legally Blonde? You should try the “bend and snap” move. ![]()
More seriously, no a smile is not slutty. It makes a person appear friendly/approachable.
Re: smiling at guys.
Can you please explain the thought process behind smiling=slutty?

Re: smiling at guys.
Tell your parents you want an arranged marraige and you wont have to force yourself to return smiles at random guys / doctors.
Your reaction to any guy smiling at you is acute shyness and is something you can work on to overcome.

Re: smiling at guys.
As some of you know, I am having a really hard time with finding a suitable rishta ( it tends to be them saying no/being indecisive) of course we have found some people unsuitable too.
My parents are very encouraging or me finding someone on my own and I always say to them but there is no one! which for the most time is true.
I am on a new placement working in Accident and Emergency ( ER/Casualty) for 6 weeks in a new town. The town is full of young asian doctors.
I have noticed something about myself. Whenever i notice a guy looking in my direction or smiling at me I turn away/make a stand offish face/pretend not to see them/always assume they are looking at my friend who everyone seems to like because she is fair and pretty.
I guess I need to change this?
Question : Does smiling come across as slutty/easy etc etc?
(I live in the UK btw so for those in some areas of Pak the culture is a little different and less conservative )
I used to be pretty high in confidence however following bad experiences with guys I guess I have confused myself on female/male interactions.
Inspi, its actually your subconscious mind stopping you to smile back at guys since you know that you are looking to get married and you have permission from your parents to look out for potential mate. You will continue to feel uncomfortable with guys who seem to be a good match to you. You might find no problem with smiling back and making friends with guys from other religion and nationalities since you won't consider them as potential mates.
Just stop thinking about your hidden aim of finding a suitable mate while you are out and just be yourself. And I know, you ARE a very very friendly person. So just be a good person which you already are and live your life without anything in your mind about finding a suitable person. If you are destined to meet your soulmate accidentally :p you will end up meeting him somehow. Stop consciously looking for someone with this objective in your mind.
Wese, how was that last guy who smiled at you? ;)
Re: smiling at guys.
guess it's perfectly okay to smile back as long as you're single.
