That seems about right to me. I don't see what you find smart in what she's doing.
She's smart because she has let go of the "emotional attachment".
Usually it is the emotional attachment the drowns you when you are in love or a relationship. There are fears of losing your companion that you knew for so long.
She's smart because she is not holding up her life in sorrow.
She is smart because she has "accepted" that there is no future together.
She is smart because she will be the last one to eat the cake for not "carrying" on her past once she dumps him.
So she is definitely smart.
