CB judicial system works, its not a concept unique to Pakistan. Ever heard of Roman Polanski? Absconding criminals at large still have influence but its significantly less. Nawaz Sharif is already convicted though one can argue it was politically motivated, and as far as great Zardari is concerned, the charges against him were dropped last year. Again, let the system work, and then judge its performance. Also, you raised concerns altaf is still running his party; lets hope fresh cases are opened and his henchmen who are assisting him, and the ones that came back to assist him after the NRO are tried.
Perhaps you are right Data , maybe with judiciary being so much in the limelight , this time justice will be served ... well we are keeping our fingers crossed and I do hope judiciary plays its part really strongly and tries them all and gets rid of the NRO's in particular ... inshallah ...
constitutional or unconstitutional , a crime is a crime ... and unless criminals are given justice fairly , crime will not stop ... we blame the army for everything , has anyone thought why the politicians werent upto the mark to face the army? the politicians let us down so severely that there was void left for the army to come in and do what they wanted ...
I agree crime is a crime, but not all crimes are same. I do want to remind you that high treason is the only crime specifically listed in the Constitution & its punishment. All other criminal offenses come under Pakistan criminal penal code.
As for non-performance of politicians, you have to ask where did all these politicians came from? Did they come out of strong political system or did the come out system that has never been allowed to work by the military? Also, keep in mind that regardless of political failings of politicians, the army has no role in politics whatsoever in any civilized nation.

If only people can understand this fact. This abrogation of constitution is the mother of all ills in our country and unless law takes it's course against this mother of all ills in future also an
army generals can always take the same course. The political system which evolves out of these constitutional abrogations is as rotten as the army rule itself.
*The issue here is Mushrraf & legal issues regarding his emergency-cum-martial law & how he can be held to account for his crimes. So, please stick to the topic & instead of ethnic issues that have nothing to do with this topic. Some of the posts have been moved to review folder. *
There is no example of any dictator being taken to court for his atrocities. Even the biggest blunder committed by Yahya Khan for not allowing Bengalis to rule and ultimately led to breakup of Pakistan was never brought up to any court.
Army is above Pakistani justice system. No court including Supreme Court will dare to touch Mush for his nine years misrule. Mush must be enjoying the political show from his FARM HOUSE. So chill my friends, nothing is going to happen to him.:)

Don't be so sure this time my friend. Court decides cases on merit, and you have to consider different circumstances this time:
1) All the supreme courts who passed judgements in favour of dictators had sworn in as PCO courts while the present judges have taken oath to safeguard the constitution of Pakistan.
2) This time there are no constitutional ammendments available like 8th ammendment or 13th ammendment which gave constitutional protection to unconstitutional acts committed by the dictators.
3) CJ/Judges is under a lot of pressure from the public who fought to get them restored to follow the constitution of Pakistan.
4) Army it seems at present has no desire to interfere with the judicial business of the SC mainly due to the public and international pressure.
So who knows we might see history in making in Pakistan, thus I concluded Mr. Musharraf needs a lot of pampers and nappies to spend these wet sleepless nights. His only option remaining at present seems to become an absconder and run away from the country before such legal proceedings start against him. Otherwise the punishment to abrogate constitution and committ an act of treason is laid down very clearly in article 6 of the constitution of Pakistan.
I hope you are right. If that is the situation, CJ should start with Mush followed by NRO of Zardari and disqualifying and corruption cases against NS, SS and murder cases of AH. You can only hope.

Alhamdulilallah. Yazdi bhaojan, do you know when the trial against former President Great Pervez Musharaf - greatest Pakistani leader since Quaid-e-Azam will take place?. Would be great if it is televised? I am looking forward to it if and when it happens. :)

Aalsi Bhaijan, for the time being we are discussing pampers and nappies for the ex dictator required to spend these wet sleepless night. Inshallah your strong desire will be met very soon when we will be discussing the trial, as the ex dictator has only till 23rd March to become an absconder and run away from the country.
Your comparision of a traitor and abrogator of constitution with Quaid e Azam, the most law abiding citizen of our country is perhaps too much. Don't you think that you should revisit your opinion on this issue as with the restoration of CJ the actions of Nov 3rd are already recognised officially as illegal actions...
