thats happened to me a couple of times too out of the couple of times i get a chance to go to Frday prayers in a masjid

it can get sorta embarrassing trying to stay awake n look like you know whats going on around you

The Imam even looks at me because he knows me and I am acting like I am awake and know what’s going on and I am just shutting my eyes to relax and to really concentrate but I am sure he can read my face just like I see other people who are doing what I am doing.

or better yet…go to a uni’s juma they keep it nice and short, and they aren’t all oh the hell fire’s gonna eat you alive gaah! the masjid’s khutbas are usually all scare tactics and nothing to tell you how to improve

I think the wadu may become makrooh if you fall asleep (not dozing off) because I’ve read instances where Prophet (pbuh) used to sleep after Isha and then get up in the morning and pray Fajar. I know we are nothing like him but we do follow him, right?

Wuzu remains intact iff you doze off while in sitting position, but it breaks when you sleep with some support or lie down

Arabic and urdu khutbahs put me to sleep..... I can't undertsand the arabic at all and the urdu khutbahs are too high-level urdu for me to follow.

The only times I've ever been able to stay alert and pay attention throughout a khutbah have been when they're in English!
