I think the wadu may become makrooh if you fall asleep (not dozing off) because I’ve read instances where Prophet (pbuh) used to sleep after Isha and then get up in the morning and pray Fajar. I know we are nothing like him but we do follow him, right?
I agree and I didn’t say there was any hadeeth, it’s just that there are certain manners that we should follow. i.e. Don’t lean with the wall, sit like most of other people are sitting, unless you have any exceptions.
Khumar batameez, I overlooked the skirts part until stinky inzy pointed it out Actually skirt/dhoti would be better and I would feel much more relaxed and comfortable, free AC system down there
perhaps if you listened to the khutba’s you wouldnt nod off
If the Khutba’s are too long then you should address this to the people in charge or perhaps go to another location for Jummah prayer. Khutba’s really shouldnt be long…like Phati said it should be short and to the point. I have heard people give really good khutba’s in 10 minz that give more meaning and are a lot more powerful then those that give 30 min khutbas.
The problem is that I am at work on Fridays and the downtown Islamic Center is about 10 minutes (plus 5 minutes to go to the parking garage and to get out) away, so that’s a really convenient location for most people who work in downtown. The Masjid close to home is about 30 minutes away and it takes longer with the traffic. I am seriously thinking about talking to the President of the board (I think it’s not nice to directly say this to Imam) and ask him to talk to the Imam. And also, one of the clocks is 5 minutes back, so I think the imam thinks it’s only 2:00 when it’s really 2:05. He just needs to stick to what he planned on saying because he goes into details, which is nice but it takes up time.
