Sleep paralysis in Islam

hi

I woke up in the morning 2 days ago but I was not able to move! My legs, my arms couldn’t move! I was also not able to talk or to scream if anybody can help me then suddenly I felt somebody was shaking me … my chest! I heard the mobile phone ringing of my bro of his iphone but I saw the clock ( I could just move my eyes a little bit) and it was 11 am! He was at work! It couldnt be his mobile phone! I was alone at home! Then suddenly after trying to move(after 4 minutes maybe) I was able to move finally!

I know the meaning of it in the science!

But what about Islam?

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

Its called ..errr .. 'not reading ayatul kursi before going to bed' in Islam

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

^^ lol...

by the way for men, the word is chest and not breast. :)

I am not a superstitious person but there are many external forces and beings made by ALLAH which our naked eye cannot see.Its best to read 4 qul and ayat-al kursi before u go to sleep.
I can give u another tip,Pray to ALLAH humbly before u sleep,"Respected ALLAH,my life is in ur grasp and i seek for YOUR protection only and i depend on YOU only".
Pray in english or urdu, or punjabi etc.Close ur eyes and go to sleep then.

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

what's religion got to do with this?

Islam is and has all solutions for all problems!

Yes, it says go to a doctor! :-)

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

Its an actual medical condition.

Read up on it, and speak to your doctor about it.

lolz
i like that one TLK

but seriously you should go to the doctor mate!!

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

Science has an answer to everything...lol what a bunch of crock.

Like someone said, read ayatul Kursi every night, sleep facing the right side and then come back to us if you still suffer from this sleep paralysis crap these doctors shove at us.

God help you !!!

I agree...but there is no harm in trying both for an effective cure.

:k:
and sleeping on right side is sunnah and its better to try on sleeping on right side.

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

I used to get but I havent had it for many many years. When I used to have it I used to read ayat ul kursi straight away and immediately when I'd finished it I would be fine again. I became quite used to it.

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

Now I recite surah Fatiha, surah Ikhlaas, Surah Faalak sura Naas and ayat ul kursi before sleep every night.

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

Yes this the sleep paralysis that occur during REM sleep, in USA several people believe they were under the infulence of Aliens and they take them in their Air Ships/UFOs for some sort of research and put them back in their beds.

As many people feel that they have been lifted in air few feets or so and they are awake but could not move their body.

Actually, the paralysis may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations, and an acute sense of danger. Sleep paralysis is particularly frightening to the individual because of the vividness of such hallucinations.

Some reports read that various factors increase the likelihood of both paralysis and hallucinations. These include:

  • Sleeping in a face upwards or Supine positionIncreased stress

  • Sudden environmental/lifestyle changes

  • A lucid dream that immediately precedes the episode.

  • Excessive consumption of alcohol coupled with lack of adequate sleep

My two cents....

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

why do we READ too much into any happenings? i really do NOT understand why? why make our lives more tense as if it's NOT already tense enough! why don't we see a doctor rather than speculate "divine hints"?

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam

when we feel any trouble in our lives, we should have to focus on the Quran, and should pray for that,,, because IN QURAN,, ,THERE IS solution of each and every thing, we just need to have strong belief on it,,, Quran is great Book, and have brought the solution of our problems,,,,

Re: Sleep paralysis in Islam
