Skipping Lunch

I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t get time to go make any lunch.

Once the hour of ravenous hunger was past, however, I discovered one major advantage in an office environment of skipping lunch:

No post-lunch sleepy period. I had an incredibly productive afternoon! From now on… I’m going to try and avoid lunch wherever possible on weekdays.

Re: Skipping Lunch

seriously avoid dinner... lunch is a must..

mado bhai you need to get you a wife asap... your eating habbits are horrible

Re: Skipping Lunch

I skip breakfast.. the first thing I do in teh day is go work out, tjust to get it out fo the way.. i dont eat nything beforehand, coz that jus throws off my whole rhythm, i dont feel i can do as much that day, i get tired n sluggish quickly, even if its like a kino an hour before :bummer: My biggest meal is usually rite after i work out  and throughout teh day I snack here n there or hav a light dinner.. :yummy:

Re: Skipping Lunch

my breakfast is usually big. i wake up extra early to have coffee, yogurt with glucose, omellet, toast and a bowl of cereal and watch the local news....even on weekends i love to have a huge breakfast..then skip lunch and have dinner at 8. however during workdays i take a light salad cuz heavy lunch does make me sleepy...but i cant function at work without food. my stomach goes grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and its embarrassing......

Re: Skipping Lunch

You should never skip meals. If you want to avoid that lazy afternoon feeling many of us get, change your eating habits, but definitely do not skip any meals.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but the other two are just as important. Have lighter meals and eat healthier snacks through out the day instead if you still feel hungry.

If you skip meals, your body will think it is starving and will break down whatever you do eat and store it as fat. You don't want that.

Re: Skipping Lunch

I jus cannot eat breakfast.. on weekends, I wake up at 11 and will not eat until 4 or 5 or even 6 PM. on schooldays, my "breakfast’ is after 12 PM which consists of pizza or something  Working out is the first thing i do, i cannot eat anything before that :bummer:

Re: Skipping Lunch

And i cannot skip dinner, I get wayyyy too hungry before I go to sleep, so I wake up starved and ravenous, and Im nto able to go workout coz im too hungry n keep thinking of food.. so i need lunch n dinner, but can live w/o bfast :halo:

Re: Skipping Lunch

I usually skip lunch because it just sits heavy in my stomach and makes me drowsy. I usually eat something like fruit, veggie, or trail mix for lunch

Re: Skipping Lunch

sara unless u do most "work" at night... your metabolism is fastest during the day....so u not only need the energy but also burn the calories faster. so i would say change your routine and lighten the dinner and start having breakfast.
every chinese lady with no belly fat i've spoken to tells me they NEVER eat after 7 or 8 pm...

Re: Skipping Lunch

^ dude last week I was working out and I had had somethin light to eat only a few hrs before and I was sluggishhhhh.. i cudnt finish my workout :bummer: I workout during the day (12 PM  ).. and the no-eating after 7/8 PM doesnt really apply if ure up til 3 AM

Re: Skipping Lunch

Best solution is to eat Guthka/Pan-Masala it will kill your hunger!

Re: Skipping Lunch

i usually end up skipping breakfast cause i'm always in a rush in the morning. my mom's always telling me to wake up 10, 15 mins earlier to that i can eat something..but i'd rather have those few minutes of blissful sleep...

and i know it's not good..but, well, what can i do? :)

Re: Skipping Lunch

Have been skipping lunch for a long time.
Agree with maddy - I feel more energetic in the post lunch session.

Re: Skipping Lunch

**I've been skipping lunch since 5 yrs now..!but i really miss it..it used to b fuN!

Re: Skipping Lunch

Haven't you guys heard that Hadith, "One must have breakfast and Dinner, even though light ones". Lunch is equally important and it does make you drowsy. It's sunnah of our Prophet (PBUH) to take a little rest (qeilula) after lunch, since it is natural to feel drowsy after lunch.

And haven't u heard that western saying, "After lunch, rest a while. After dinner, walk a mile"! Be moderate, and enjoy life, you don't need to skip anything!

To me it always helps to eat my dinner early for a sound sleep. I take a light lunch and after lunch I take a 10 minutes break to rest, even if it is in my office chair. A little snooze refreshes me up. At times, I chew a gum to keep me awake ;)

Re: Skipping Lunch

i'm a dinner person. only dinner. no breakfast / lunch for me :D

Re: Skipping Lunch

If you dont eat breakfast your stomach lives on the fat...

Mulz- my dinner is a lot different :D may be 2 oranges, or grab small salad, yougurt something along those lines. Once in a blue moon if there is something that i really like i would have it .

Its so tough to do it espeically when you love eating but when you see yourself i the mirror and you want to cry ... you just do it :(

Re: Skipping Lunch

i dont understand how u guys can live on just dinner the whole day... or having just one fruit or salad for dinner!!!!
