Skinny-fat

Are you skinny fat?
Do you consider yourself skinny-fat?
If you were skinny-fat, what did you do to get yourself more healthy? Was it a diet change, an exercise regimen or a combination of both?

Skinny-fat definition from urban dictionary:

When someone is thin and looks great in clothes, but is all flabby underneath
Thin, but with high body fat. Like a runner, or a sedentary person who doesn’t eat much.

Re: Skinny-fat

I am normal. no matter how much I eat or don’t eat my tummy stays relatively the same :smooth:

Re: Skinny-fat

ahaha it stays the same does it

Re: Skinny-fat

like a runner? runners have high body fat?

Re: Skinny-fat

Yes, for the most part, not even admitting that would be cruelty

got it from urban dictionary, ofcourse it won’t be 100% accurate :stuck_out_tongue:

huge?

Re: Skinny-fat

really? ya'all think you're just super healthy even if you consider yourself skinny?

skinny-fat: you're proper weight, possibly a proper BMI too, but it's mostly fat under the skin, and very little muscle mass. it's still unhealthy, as the heart and the other muscles aren't getting the exercise they need.

i think it's something important to consider, as just dieting, and as women are ought to crash diets, isn't exactly the whole picture of health.

urban dictionary nay khumar ko topi pehna di :)

Re: Skinny-fat

I am skinny-fat :frowning:
Oh wait, I was skinny-fat, before I got pregnant… now I’m pregnant FAT :cb:
I’m planning on hitting the gym a month after I have the baby, hopefully I will be able to get rid of most of the flab, if not all :hinna:

My husband keeps going from skinny-fat to all-toned to skinny-fat again (when he gets lazy and starts pigging out)… he’s all fit right now, has been going to the gym 5 days a week since a couple of months … his regimen is 45-minutes Zumba followed by abs/stomach exercises for 30 minutes (he picked out some from the P90 X program since they work so well).

Re: Skinny-fat

I think most people are skinny-fat...but don't realize it

The second point you made I tried to stress it in one of the other threads but all they cared about was how to lose wt.

Re: Skinny-fat

ok what’s zumba :bummer:

how long do you think on average it will take a skinny-fat person to get to healthy level of body fitness? and what should be done?

I think so too. The desi girls especially. including me sigh diet isn’t enough for me anymore. i’ve tried to get rid of all sorts of temptations, eat healthy (or well as much as i can with a student lifestyle) but it doesn’t really do anything for me. so i’m beginning to add some workout to my weekly activities. let’s see how well it goes

I am fat-fat.

I eat like there's no tomorrow too. I love food.

Re: Skinny-fat

i am skinny but its my tummy area thats just really round.i do nothing abt it. i just sit.
ok some days i do yoga in hope some day i will not have a not so round tummy

Re: Skinny-fat

i like my food too. sigh.

same. but then the skinny started to get the fat on it, and it's like ermm no! though my BMI is perfectly normal. which is suprising hehe

Re: Skinny-fat

I was going to say that. :naak:

Zumba is basically a fitness program, combining many different dance styles into one simple routine.

Re: Skinny-fat

aw erm. the thing wiht me is that even when i loose weight i begin to look freaky.i loose from my cheeks :vivo: but the tond remains!

Re: Skinny-fat

The only way to get rid of the flab is strength training, dieting alone will help you lose wt but you cant get a toned body without exercise. I guess sit ups/crunches etc would work well for the abdominal area.

Re: Skinny-fat

I'll c if that works on me.

Until I read this post I thought I didn't know I was fat :( .
