Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
For how long ? Is A month or two enough to see the results ?
Yeah 1 glass of warm water with a few drops of fresh lemon. First thing in the morning.

Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
I have successfully included warm lemon honey water every morning in my routine and about a tablespoon of olive oil (morning or night-depending on my mood) everyday.
I apply a home made face mask too atleast once a week.
I think I will include other stuff gradually.

Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
update:
i have successfully implemented fruits in my diet..however i have oraqnges (clementine sonly)..twice or thrice a day.
I joined the gym..and workout mainly on cycling, leg press and rowing machine..my face sweats but not as much as my upper body
i now alternate the face wash and dettol soap every other day.. i have very oily skin
and i upgraded to a clinique toner..my old toner pad used to come clean whereas clinique toner really removes dirt leftovers...
as for moisturizer..i used to use an oily one at night and light combination skin for day...i now use the light one only..
my face isnt better as yet..but i see healing progress.. let see how it goes.
please comment and give more advices :)
Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
^ Please go back to post #9 - See #3, #4, and #6 on that post for skincare. :)
Hopefully you have also cut back on sweets/sugar, and fried/greasy foods and eating more veggie based meals. While oranges are great, I also recommend including a variety of fruits…unless you truly believe you can continue eating oranges 2-3x/day for the next 4 months (and what about AFTER the wedding…?).
You mentioned your gym routine but now how many times a week you're going or for how long. Try to go at least 3-4 times every week if you're not doing it already. Also, cycling/rowing/leg press is great but you should consider implementing weights and exercises such as lunges, push-ups, mountain climber, plank, side plank, bear crawl, burpees etc. You can look up videos online to see how all these are done properly.
Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
so 4 month to go now..
skin hasn’t improved massively , it feels much fresher since I use oil free cream and so i do not have hat overly oily skin the whole day. But, my skin isnt as soft as before. I have been using the Clinique-Anti blemish kit for 8 weeks now. IT has brought all my pimples/dirt to the surface before clearing them. this means i have more marks and the clearing of pimple is a slow process on me.(worked greatly and quick on my sister) The Clinique product is generally good but it left me with so many open pores hence causing the unsmooth skin.
I have started facials every fortnight. and i apply a mask or baisan once a week.
Since it is ramadan, i have stopped going to the gym and started more oily food ...ant resist the pakoras or the paratha at sehri :(...water intake is much lower too in the 7 hours i get to eat.
anyone will recommend the deep cleansing facial? At the moment i do the normal express facials which is basically cleanse ,scrub and mask.
thanks
:)
Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
I tried smoothie twice...threw it away after a few sips.

Hey why didn't you see a dermatologist? I had sever acne and alhumdulilah it's all gone now.
All along medication I used to wash my face with besan, haldi, orange peel. Initially I added lemon but due to acne it hurt so I dropped.
Don't use towel to dry your face, let it air dry.
Don't change skin care products frequently and try to apply as less make up as you can.
Changer your pillow cover every week.
Tie your bangs back.
Green tea if it suits you or lemon honey water on empty stomach.
Drink water as much as you can. I remember drinking and going to washroom after every hour, lol.
Instead of makeup products I used herbal remedies like potato juice, tomato pulp etc.
Eat healthy and fresh and stay happy.
Wish you a happy married life!

my gp need to refer me to a dermatologist and he wont do it as yet he wants to try out medications himself first..and he does not find my acne as sever to be refered to a dermato.
thanks for the advices.
i hardly wear make up so that helps the acne healing better
if i touch my skin..it is quiet smooth again apart from the few big zits, however the acne scars are extremely red and ugly. i have been using the Clinique dark spot corrector for my scars as well as Fade Out. i was told Fade Out is a good marks remover if applied non stop for 4 weeks.
question about the besan...can i make load of besan and milk mix and store in the fridge?
do you h
Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
besan will help you to absorb excess oil and improve the complexion.
I don't think so that you can keep that in fridge for longer period, what i used to do was took besan, haldi, neem leaves and orange peels all together in a bottle and kept that in washroom and instead of using facewash/soap i used to wash my face with this keeping for sometime like 3-5 minutes.
i hope it will help.
Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
Are you still using Nivea? Because that is really bad since it has mineral oil in it. And mineral oil is the first thing that makes some people break out. I had the exact same issues as you and I switched to Olay's active hydrating cream. It's a mini pink jar with a black lid. It's not oily and absorbs really well. It's summer and you're going to have oily skin. If you use an oily moisturizer, that will cause breakouts. Check the ingredients list of everything that you put on your face, and make sure it doesn't have mineral oil and paraben (also bad for many.) These two were terrible for my skin and yours sounds a lot like mine.
Also, I know it's tempting but if you really want to work on your skin, you will have to resist those oily pakoras, spring rolls, patties, etc. Greasy foods don't directly cause acne but they intensify it. And if the temptation is really bad, try baking samosas, and spring rolls. Yes it won't be the same but it's better than frying. Stay away from chocolate, and coffee as well. Again, this stuff doesn't directly cause acne but it has been known to intensify it for many. Sometimes, it's the little things that cause the biggest breakouts so cut out anything that can potentially ruin your skin and you should see a difference.
Good luck!

i have stopped using nivea 2 months ago and switched to Clinique Anti Blemish system.
over a week ago i sarted using Fade Out cream.
im trying to avoid the pakoras now..and havent had a coffee during the whole ramzan.Had smoothies instead. i hope to carry on this smoothies routine for breakfast.
Are facials good for an acne prone skin? Many people old me to have a facial after every 3 weeks but some people say it is bad for the acne prone skin. I have done 2 so far but i go for the very basic one.
Re: skincare prep 6months prior to wedding
Make sure to drink plenty of water every day to keep your skin hydrated. You can also make some fruit smoothie at home. Fruits have its own antioxidants and nutrients which is good for the skin. You can also do some exercises every day, a 30-45 minute exercise every day is better. You can flush the toxins in your body by doing some exercises. Don't forget to have a healthy and balance diet also.
