Skin prep for wedding

I was wondering what facial to get for the wedding. My skin is terrible with clogged pores, white heads, acne marks etc.
is it better to get a deep cleansing facial or some kind of peel?

I only have month left!!:S

Help!!

Same question as Tklucky8 :)

Re: Skin prep for wedding

A professional acid peel might be chancey at the 1-month mark, especially if you've never had one before... Not sure where you're located, and what resources are available to you, but if I were you, I'd schedule that facial and in the mean-time, be exfoliating and hydrating like a fiend. I exfoliate with DHC's AHA Renewing cream, but I also like Derma Doctor's Physical Chemistry acid peel.

Are the "acne marks" hyper-pigmentation, or acne-scarring?

Re: Skin prep for wedding

In the wedding section there is a thread called glowing brides take a look it has some great advice and tips about skin care before wedding

Yea i'm thinking of going for a peel or intense pulse light (IPL) treatment .. the acne marks that i have are hyper pigmentation.

Re: Skin prep for wedding

Girls I wouldn't recommend a new skincare routine a month before your wedding, especially not a chemical peel as you don't know how your skin will react!

Like Piyari said, have a read of the 'glowing brides' thread for lots of helpful tips (lol I'm not getting married but its still helpful!)

Eat well, sleep well and try gentle exercise...try a deep cleansing facial but make sure the facialist does not pick at any spots etc she should not be doing that!

Hello,

Thanks for the input, I am in USA. I just was wondering whats better to get just a deep cleansing facial or something else.
I have gone through the glowing brides. Other then natural remedies what can i do to make my skin radiant and glowy for the wedding.

A deep cleansing facial which is more pampering will be helpful. Unfortunately, I don't live in the USA so I cannot recommend any spas :(

  • Eat lots of fresh fruit, salads and vegetables and protein (fresh fish, chicken instead of red meat) (avoid deep fried foods, too many chillies);
  • Drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water daily, as its important to keep your skin hydrated;
  • Exercise (go for a bike ride or a power walk);
  • Make sure you get at least 8 hours sleep each night;
  • Exfoliate your skin (face = once a week) and body;
  • Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day (morning and night).
  • Use whitening toothpaste so you can smile without fear of tea/ coffee stains!
  • Moisturise your hands regularly;
  • I would have your eyebrows threaded at least a few days before your wedding (it should give enough time for any redness to settle down and also look fresh for your wedding day)

Hope that helps :)
