Nobody is even bashing Halle much less hating on her. She won a title with her natural/original looks and you’d think that would give her the confidence to not only be more accepting of her looks but more proud of them. But she’s gone under the knife as many others and it’s no better than skin bleaching.

You almost got it. But not quite. Plot is a bit complex.
She didn’t play daughter AND villain in the SAME episode. In one of the episodes, she was given the role of a murderess. For that one episode, there was no blood linkage with Matlock. She was just this horrible person.
The emotional impact was so intense that I have forgotten the episode number. And dare not research it.

Just as color discrimination, BBC should also talk about " Language " and “accent” discrimination.
Not only in Pakistan but over many parts of the world.

Different colours are beautiful in their way. white rice may be saaf but dark lentils are also saaf in their way. think of all the different coloured daals there are out there.
what about yellow and orange? Are they beautiful also.

Rice and lentils make a tasty dish. One being fair and the other being dark (well depends on the type of lentil can also be yellow or dark green) has nothing to do with the outcome of a tasty dish at the end.
The same can be said of biryani with the mix of white rice and dark meat.

People who care about skin color are either morally bankrupt or economic failures.
It is better to stay away from such people because they are not trustworthy.

They dye their hair all sorts of colours.. I’ve seen plenty of redheads as well.. I think they just love experimenting with their looks.. same with their makeup 
I think our culture is more conservative in terms of beauty and fashion so it seems strange to us.. It’s less of a big deal for them to experiment with drastically different hair colours, makeup styles and clothing..
