BBC waalon ko sirf Pakistan hi mila tha? BBC should look closer to home and across the sea…many dark skinned celebs have bleached their skin…Oprah, Beyonce, Lil Kim, etc etc…and that’s a much bigger deal because a vast number of sheeples take them as role models. Somehow, not as much attention is focused on them.

That’s a very good point. There’s been this ongoing debate in African media and amongst population that why caramel shade women like Halle Berry and Beyonce are always hailed and promoted as epitome of ‘black’ beauty. Quite recently I learned that dangerous skin bleaching soaps are one of the most popular selling beauty product in Jamaica.

Lol, Halle Barry is attractive MA, but she did not achieve the ‘epitome’ status without surgery. Look at her pictures from when she was younger, she’s had nose surgery and possibly skin bleaching. You will find this obsession even in Korea, Japan, etc. I don’t get it. Why scrutinize Desis when you have similar issues on your home front? Is plastic surgery for aesthetic purposes any better than skin bleaching? I don’t think so.

^Halle Berry won (or came second in) Miss USA with her old nose.. I think she was stunning back then as well..

Also, can someone tell me why arabs are obsessed with blonde hair. So many of my arab friends (girls), they have nice black hair but they dyed it blonde, their mom dyed their hair blonde … even though it doesn’t look good on them. Worth looking into

I didn’t know the kahawat chor ke daadi mein tinka was used both sides of the border. Matlock was my favorite show.

Speaking of the Matlock show, the lady who acted as his daughter also in one show acted as the villain. Broke my heart.
