Guys,
Just wondering, I’ve heard ppl say that guys, when looking for a partner, often go for girls who have similarities with their own sister(s).
Could be the way they look, dress, talk, think etc.
How much of that is true (for you personally)?

It is said that girls look for their father in their future spouses!
I think this is to some extend quite true.

errr dunno where you heard that, but that does not sound right. There are some theories that guys look for somoen who has teh same qualities as their mother and whether you want to put a fruedian spin on it or think of it as the person looking for someone with good mother qualities for his future kids, i dunno.
But I dont know if i agree with what u have posted, i look at my married cousins and pals, and there appears to be no major similarity among the wives and the sisters.

I had my doubts too. It somehow doesn't sound errrmm right.
That's the most screwed up version of an obsecure Fruedian theory I've ever heard.
It is all about afiliation. If you are close to your parents and you admire their qualities then you will look for some of these qualities in your future spouse.
On the other hand we are not really influenced by our siblings due to lesser age gap and so on and so forth. Although we may love them and care about them but admiring them is quite rare.
I think , wat I feel now when my own kids are too grown up, men usually have no standard to compare girls for their wife but their own moms by whom they gt brought up and watched the way they were handeled................I still wish for that whenever I happened to smell overcooked & slightly burnt food when I reach home at the end of my work.
I think it's the luck of the draw...you don't get to "pick" it just happens :D....you can't look for indepth qualities in someone you barely know as for dressing and stuff..naaah...

Every1 is different, I don't see how a gurl can be similar 2 ur sister. Anyway, I have a lot of fun wid my sisters, but I wouldn't look 4 da same qualities.

i guess you may find some of that because in arranged marriages when the whole herd picks out the candidates, they will pick out those that they like i.e. similar to them...and that is whatthe guy gets stuck with :)
that could be one explanation
