In their words ‘There are many wealthy families, who can afford to send their remains (phul) to Ganga, but the water of river Sindh is more sacred to us than Ganga. Sindh is more sacred to us than Kaashi and Mathra. They talk of the cases, where many Hindus who migrated to India in 1947, wished in their wills that their remains be sent to be part of river Sindh’.
Gangaji won't mind, in hindus many elders also get their ash buried in their ancestral fields too. I know many of my south Indian friends who have sent their ancestors remains in River Krishana :)

It is good that Sindhis have observed it :)
I think it was present in Sindhi psyche centuries ago. Marvi (A 13th century girl from Thar) when kidnapped by King Omar Soomro, wished to be buried in Thar.
but Hindus are owning their homeland and are happy to be buried here. How does this show separation of national interests and concerns. It would be separation of interests if they talked of anything against the others
May be the writers (religious pioneers) moved to Ganga in post vedic period
Yes they did, saraswati dried up, metaphorically went heaven and Hindus moved towards gangetic plains and pundas sanctified it as *the river superior * and the legends began :D
