They are a hated joke even in their own community. Their terrorist\gangster politics and a lack of effective opposition is the only reason they get any votes.
And now they break even their most basic principles by opposing the CJ and lawyers movement.
They are opposed human rights, democracy and the rule of law. What do expect from a party in bed with PML-Q and Mushy.

Most educated Mohajirs dont give these people the time of day... I find they have some support from educated Mohajirs outside of Pak, but thats probably because they dont have to put up with MQM harassment and annoyance when teir out of Karachi. Anyone who has seen the MQM first hand, knows the true face of these people.

i have to agree with malik bhai - sindhis i guess would resent muhajirs or shal i say the mqm.
btw if you visit places such as thatta and other inner sindhi areas - the mqm is scrawled everywhere. its an insult to sindhis.
the next government is going to have to please the sindhis - i wonder what policies they would have to think of? somehow i dont think mushy is capable of pleasing the sindhis - i get this strong feeling him and his government will have no sensitivity to sindhi feelings at all. not after whatthe pml-q has been upto.

Don’t start outright lying when you have no intelligent comment to write. Did you see any Pakistani flag during BB’s funeral? Do you know which flag was on her coffin? Do you know what slogans were raised at the funeral? Do you how the punjabi PPP members were treated? This, mind you, is Pakistan’s largest national political party, what to say of other smaller regional parties.
And here is how some punjabis treat guests to lahore, by trying to make fools of them.

Ever been to interior Sindh? Only Pakistan flags are on official govnt buildings, rest are jeay sindh or ppp flags. All of Sindh are gadheys it seems, only Punjab is smart enough to wave the right flag when it suits it.

That is your problem if you think MQM refers to an ethnicity. we refer to a political party, and its leader who is the main problem. btw, I thought the party now represented punjabiz lol also mollahs (some jehadi madrassah in karahi now backs the MQM too lol)
MQM has indeed tried to go beyond mohajir representation, but that doesn't mean when people use the word MQM it is for only one purpose alone.

MQM had the potential of becoming a good party. May be our land is so unfortunate that every political party becomes a show for a dictatorial, set-for-life leader. Altaf bhai should give up the top post and let the young people come up. MQM like any other party was supposed to be a democratic institution. Instead it has relegated itself down to a banana party that is no different from others like Immi's TI, or all those A-B-C-pick-your-letter-Leagues.
Sadly MQM is now just a personal fiefdom ruled by someone who is not too unlike other feudal lords from Sindh and beyond.

There are problems with MQM I know. One of the main problems is that some of the young and more zealous MQM workers I have talked too feel that Altaf should stop making deals with others and only align with other nationalist parties, especially in Sindh and fight for the province's rights together. This was tried with limited success before with jeay sindh, but old animosities don't go away so easily. At least that is one line of thinking but the senior leadership wanted to give this Pakistan strong federation thing another chance by seeing what changes can be made from within the system by aligning with Musharraf. It is unclear which would be the better path, but all of this is being discussed in a democratic manner. Unlike PPP, Altaf's children or brother won't be handed over party chairmanship after he retires or dies.
My personal belief is that if Mush fails in bringing provincial autonomy and equality between the federating units and going back to the promises of 1940, MQM should align with nationalist forces and by that time hopefully PPP will also have seen the light. Depends on next elections.

If MQM is not ethical, autonomous, and democratic within itself, how can it demand ethics, autonomy, and democracy for the whole region?
Bro! we have been duped for too long by the mafioso leaders like ZAB, BB, Zardari and other feudals. What difference MQM could make now that its leadership treats the party like personal fiefdom?

Altaf will step down when Bhutto-Zardari family steps down, when Sharif family steps down, when Chaudri bradaran steps down, when Wali Khan family steps down etc. Altaf is the only one who's successor will not be from his family.

And one odd statement may not carry much weight. Our issue is with the way he is running MQM, and MQM is allowing to be ruled by someone who is very similar to the feudal lords.
