Re: Sindhi nationalists rejection of LB system may lead to end of PPP govt
Ofcourse rather than making alliance with mqm terrorists.
How easy it is to completely forget terrorist acts of PPP Lyari gangs and ANP in Karachi. Move away from prejudice and hatred, and call a spade a spade.
Actually, I am not sure if I really want to see PPP govt go. I really like Zardari's policies towards extremism in country. And I honestly think that he is the best person in this regard. My bone of contention is/was the attitude of Sindhi nationalists in PPP Sindh, people like Zulfiqar Mirza. It is due to such people that I wanted to see PPP govt go. But such people have now been sidelined by PPP higher-ups. For whatever reason, this is a positive development.
Also, MQM probably does not need to demand a separate province if LB system is established in the province. A new province would mean leaving Hyderabad at the mercy of Sindhi nationalists.
MQM also need to prove that it thinks beyond its base of Urdu speaking people. It needs to work for the prosperity of the whole province instead of just Karachi and Hyderabad. If rural places of Sindh develop than it will be good not just for those rural places but also for Karachi as well. If there are jobs available all across the province then there will be less demand from Sindhi nationalists for complete control of Karachi and Hyderabad. There will be less friction among people, less violence, and more concentrated development. I think it would be a win-win situation.
My biggest criticism of PPP is its total carelessness towards economic issues. This is why I had started a thread earlier about PPP govt's debt-bonanza which is causing inflation to go higher everyday. This situation should not continue. And here I believe MQM can play a positive role in advising and driving the government towards better decision making. A positive role as MQM played in the last budget.
