Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

You are facing this Takht e Lahore mentality alone .
They don't let people to live their own life in Pakistan

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Have you got anything to add on the topic?

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

So, takht-e-Lahore is under the nigraan hukumat of lethal kamizee and achterbhan? Real takht-e-Lahoris are furious on the na-ehli of the current nigraan. Lethal and achterbhan, wisen up your act!

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

:konfused:

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

janab, obove post is yours, I was expecting you approve AP’s post instead. I told, reasons are emoational and ethnic. See how people become intollerate the moment someone suggested them to have ID card in national language.

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

I would also say the same (intolerance thing) for those who want Sindhis have id cards not in Sindhi, instead of reasons mentioned above.

I didn't get AP's post at all, what has Takht e Lahore do with the discussion in hand? As far as the inferiority thing is concerned, its an open secret that some people don't speak their local languages with their children because the consider it to be against Pakistan. Urdu is no doubt dearest to us, but I'm sorry to say our patriotism is not limited to just speaking Urdu.

I'm all for CNICs to be in local languages if they got their transcript and have pronunciation issues like Sindhi.

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

that was the post#5 and till that post, noone forced you to have ID card in Urdu. you blame others for having inferority complex against Urdu and that was realy premature comment. See, it proves my assumption correct that being so proud of native language can make you hate others.

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Lagta ha naraz ho gya....
Me too hurted by your statement but I know your intentions was not wrong so I still regards you one of the most unbiased liberals on the forum :)

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Premature? How come? Isn't it a fact that Punjabi is not owned by a group just because of the fear of being labelled as disloyal to Pakistan? We have gone through this discussion in different threads. What was the response there from posters who live in Punjab?

Yes I'm proud my language, but that language, the persons who speak that language, the writers and poets never promoted hate against other languages. If you think I hate other languages, then bring a single post of mine which proves my hate towards any language.

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

strange thing you are talking about... how can you prove this fact?

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Let some posters from Punjab confirm this. I come across with many comments on this forum, where people told that they grandparents used particular Punjabi words, but now we don't know the meaning of those words as we don't speak Punjabi at our homes.

Don't we all know this about Bengalis being termed as ghaddar and whats not when they opposed decision of imposing Urdu on them?

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

There may be a trend in Punjab to adopt Urdu but if you say that this is inferiority complex then I must say this is somewhat like hate.
Mostly, elite class speaks Urdu at homes and they don’t even know what is called patriotism or national unity. If you observe the day 14th August in Punjab, you will hardly see Pakistani flag on the top of houses of elite class but numerous flags on the top of houses of lower and middle class people.
You are actually telling me the twisted version preaching of Qaum parast and PPP leaders to the people of Sindh that if you adopt Urdu you will become loyal to Punjab.

:) again sindh card like warnnings...

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

though i was out of this discussion, but this one is showing up in my list again and again : D

just wanna say few things

1) owning your regional language doesn't make you disloyal to country
2) those who choose to have their ID cards in National language doesn't mean they have inferiority complex
3) ID card is a national identification document for everyone to understand quickly whenever needed, having it made in regional language restricts this ability
4) having ID card in sindhi/balochi or whatever language for that matter, would be perfectly fine if urdu translation is also provided as someone said earlier
5) the guy who said he's summarizing the thread, didn't do so, he only summarized pro-sindhi-id-card side of the story, not the thread

i'm done, hopefully ; )

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

good to know that. elite class is all same everywhere. Elite Sindhi class like Bhuttos also don't know the local language, so I would pay deaf ear to them if come up with any theory about language. The question is not about adapting another language, the question is owning your own language. Why is to so in Punjab to term people speaking Punjabi as Paindoo, whereas there is no such scene with other languages?

Denial of history can't be addressed. No comments.

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

this example doesn't belong here, bangalis were majority or at least half of the population if not in majority. it was a matter of selecting national language

sad, but this thread is turning into racial/ ethnic debate slowly

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

Why doesn't this comment belong here? There is nothing racial / ethnic if we start learning from our past mistakes.

Its the matter of accommodating local languages as per the wishes of people who speak that. Having id card in Sindhi is a settled issue and no one raised voice against it todate. If someone have any practical problem with this practice, then there are ways to address it.

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

well we are just discussing, and we all are entitled to our opinions. expressing your opinion in civil way that with proper reasoning doesn't make you "non accommodating to local languages" or does it? specially when people are repeatedly saying that promoting local language is good thing, we should do it, but having ID card in local language is not the end of the world

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

I agree some people here are too proud of their native language and hate other languages its the truth!

Re: Sindhi Language on Identity Card

missed this comment.

Thanks for this respect. I'm sorry if any of my statement hurt you or anyother person who really own their language.
