I agree with that financing part. This was and is still prevalent in Sindhi Hindus. They are charging high interest for loans and have in their custody lands, gold of Muslims as a security to loan. At the time of partition, the problem that was faced by Sindhi Muslims due to these loan-security transactions also played major role in current Sindhi Muslims. Their lands which were in custody of Hindu banyas were not given back to them and were formed part of claims and given to migrants. A generation paid principal and heavy installment of interest before partition, but during the process of migration they lost their right to their properties.
The other day I saw a Punjabi guy tweeting against Punjabi immigrants to the province, he was citing the same reasons unfair distribution of poerties (in favour of immigrants) :D
Though the story of displacement and death due to heat continued in early 90s for Kashmiris on our side of border, in longer time frame, Kashmiris on both side of border became politically powerful. Nehru being most powerful and Salman Rushdie, the most, unpopular :D

Yes, it is a type of loan, in which one takes re 1 as loan then after 5 years, he has already paid 5 rupees and another interest of Rs 4 is pending :D
Mohd Younus of Bangladesh with micro financing has started demolishing this in India and I think, has already demolished this sort of financing in Bangladesh.

There is nothing against immigrants as they had to suffer and lost their properties as well. My point was that there were definitely some irregularities in process of claims due to which local people and their coming generations suffered.

First generation yes, but 65 years down the track I think the people should take some responsibility now.
Immigrants were those who had left everything in India and had to start afresh. If I see my family there are a few success stories but failures as well. The failures are in those families where the parents did not take interest in the education and upbringing of their kids. There can be two ways how you see failures, identify the reasons and try to rectify them or lay the blame on x,y,z factors and bail yourself out. Its easier to go down the latter route.

In our part of world, certain things have cyclical effect due to bad system. People should take responsibility as that leads to the ultimate solution, but people should also learn from past mistakes as well.
The other problem with Sindhi Muslims is that their elite class never had links with the lower class. They did politics on culture and language, but never addressed actual problems of the people.
He is, with just face of person I can tell if one is kashmiri or not :D, I am into too much of them now :D

Infact, people are as corrupt as there politician, democracy is like processing machine, what goes in is what comes out :D
anyone remember arleitter - gs' very own sindhi hindu? too bad he was mentally deranged. :(
The community which get displaced is the one which rises faster. Be it any, So the communities which came with ghutteries on their heads in partition are the top one in both countries :)
this might be true if those being displaced are spirited, educated, and less importantly have resources to carry on their trade in the lands they are moving into. otherwise afghans, palestinians and somalis would be running the world by now.
i honestly dont know what percentage of what he posted on here was truth. he claimed to have visited hinglaj, thatta, tharparkar.. and that he had first cousins living in larkana who he skyped with. guy was a character.. got banned for being creepy :D
Spirited is basic prerequiste I beleive, education as a neccessity can follow. Jews being displaced and being top one is also an example of that
Education does play a role. Even after 6 decades of migration of Sindhi Hindus, most of mathematics teachers in government schools of Sindh are Hindus.
As a Muslim I am proud that these Hindus left Pakistan permanently. The only kafirs allowed to live in a Muslim country are Jews and Christians i.e Ahl al Kitab.
Even then, Muslims and Jews/Christians never lived together in the olden days during the Islamic Golden Age. The Jews had their own quarters of the towns in Spain and the Muslims had their own parts. They did not mix. Friendship with them is haram. When the Jews/Christians came outside they were required to wear distinguishing clothing so Muslims would not mistake them for brothers in faith.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not initiate the greeting of salaam to a Jew or Christian, and if you meet them in the street, push them to the narrowest part of the road."
*[Narrated by Muslim, 2167, or see Hadith - Sahih Bukhari Book 25, Number 5389, Narrated AbuHurayrah ] *
If this is how a Jew or Christian is to be treated, then don't even ask about these pagan Hindus.
