Yes I know that, but when news like fog in lahore and other parts of Punjab was part of headlines and given time of 3-4 minutes in main bulletin, they could easily give 5 minutes coverage to this incident. Oh not to forget, they did give time to bollywood gossip
agree, but I don’t perceive any harm or political agenda by covering such reports. Look at Jang’s latest news section for today, no single item for rallies, though they have covered about Primary teachers test in Karachi, Shahbaz Sharif’s statement about Kashmir, reports about weather in upper areas, etc
this is only proving the point i want to make, may be i’m not good at conveying…
so tell me yourself, in this hostile atmosphere where we think that these fears are real and have some basis, do we need to promote more ethnicity or bring people towards more uniformity, which could serve as a glue, and make us one again…
uniformity in religion, uniformity in our culture, in language, in history in education in everything
I don’t think that celebrating such days means cutting yourself from others and their culture. Pakistan’s four provinces got different cultures and no one can deny this. If promoting such culture by anyway hit the unity of the nation then we can raise questions. Our traditions, customs related to marriages / death do vary in all four provinces, but that don’t make anyone less Pakistani. If we know the culture and roots of others, we can understand each other more properly IMO.
