Being a Punjabi myself, I'll say that Punjabis are somehow ashamed of their culture, they try to imitate others while dissing themselves. These are the signs of inferiority complex. What can you expect if speaking Punjabi at school is looked down upon, and considered "paindoo" an insult where as other provinces take that as something to be proud of.

^ maybe the past...they dont want to have any association with India (Indian Punjab in this case with the Hindu/Sikh roots). Therefore trying to create a separate identity. Plus like we discussed in some other thread that the language issue had become quite political even before the creation of Pakistan, when muslims started taking Urdu as their language, Hindus hindi and Sikhs were left with punjabi. Pakistani Punjabis are now a confused lot to put it mildly.

lassi log peetay hain, but like everything that is becoming obsolete. In the villages and towns maybe it would be more prevalent.

lassi has cooling impact.. BTW Lahoris try to find chances for drinking milk.. be it lassi or Kashmiri chai… asal main doodh peene ke bahane hain
