Re: Sindh Assembly passes resolution against division of Sindh

We should give credit where it’s due. Good on the Sindh Assembly for passing a resolution against the division of Sindh!

If MQM wallahs feel so anguished at their perceived grievances, instead of undermining Sindh dharti, the land that feeds them, perhaps they can consider moving to Punjab or Pakhtunkhwa? We will see how they will fare there.

Of course, Baluchistan is off-limit because Punjabi and muhajir/Urdu Speaking “settlers” get hounded there as Baluchistan already seems on the brink of secession from Pakistan. Speaking of secession, outsiders in Sindh perhaps should also keep in mind that outsider non-Bengalis/Biharees in East Bengal became persona non grata almost overnight when Bengalis got their freedom from Pakistan and Bangladesh became an independent country. Outsiders in East Bengal who left Bangladesh came to Sindh; the ones who wanted to leave but couldn’t manage to do on their own were “stranded”. Punjab for all its relative prosperity–some of which of course came at the expense of Bengalis–didn’t come to the rescue of “stranded Pakistanis” in Bangladesh even though it was also the largely Punjabi dominated Pakistan Army that prosecuted its genocidal campaign against Bengalis and used its proxies during that campaign to drive a wedge between Bengalis and non-Bengalis in East Bengal.

Bottom Line: Outsiders/mohajir/Urdu speaking people in Sindh should be grateful for the generosity of Sindhis and for the giving, loving land of Sindh. Their future’s tied with that of Sindh; don’t bite the hand that feeds them.

:k: Couldn’t have said better.
