There’s a delay in LB elections, but PTI is still committed to it. Imran wouldn’t go on and on about local government if the party’s has decided to backtrack. I believe the deadline for LB election in KPK is November this year. But PTI certainly needs to get down to it.
As with creation of province in Sindh, he is right that it is an extremely ‘delicate’ issue simply because the Waderas won’t ever let Karachi go, because if you take Karachi out of Sindh, what is left in Sindh? What would be Sindh? Every time you talk about division of Sindh, you get a war like a situation in Karachi, the thought alone is considered a high level treason, creating new province is akin to breaking a new country? What do you do to fight such extremism? How about creating a local government system and starting the process of empowering local community so the transition from local government system to new province is all natural and gradual (and hopefully bloodless).
Unfortunately, when it comes to dividing Sindh, there is indeed a very complicated ‘yes, but situation’, and you know that very well. I would personally like to see new provinces coming out of Punjab first to kick start the process. Sindhis Waderas would never ever allow their province be the guinea pig.
