Since 80% of the complaints here are from UK Pakistani women....why don't they

Re: Since 80% of the complaints here are from UK Pakistani women…why don’t they

How commonplace the practice of going “back home” for a spouse is within a community depends on the country the community in question is located in. Certain countries discourage immigration via marriage and are quite restrictive, making it rather impossible to bring someone back from abroad via marriage. I was born in Denmark, which is extremely restrictive in regards to marriage visas, and lived there until my early teens. I noticed that in communities in Denmark, people either marry someone locally or from a different ethnic group and rarely go “back home.” In the rare instances that people married someone from abroad, it was the Danish spouse who moved to their home country to live with their spouse. My husband was raised in Holland and he’s mentioned that communities there are the same way as Holland has numerous requirements that must be met before bringing a spouse to Holland from another country.

I think the reason certain communities in the UK are so insular and marry from abroad so frequently is the rather lax requirements for marriage visas in the UK which make it so easy to do so.
