Some differences between Islam and Judaism:
Some similarities between Islam and Christianity:
Some differences between Islam and Christianity:
As can be seen, Islam and Judaism is much closer to each other than Islam w.r.t. Christianity.

Some similarities between Islam and Judaism:
....
3. Both believe in the same prophets pre-Muhammad
Not "pre-Mohammed", but "pre-Jesus (Jesus excluded by Judaism)
...
5. Christians believe Jesus was taken up to heaven, Islam believe he died on earth
Most Muslims confirm the Christianity belief that he was taken up to the heaven.
8. Christianity is normally seen as a Western religion, Islam a Mid-Eastern religion
This is not a difference between "Christianity" and "Islam", its the perception thereof.
...10. Christians are free to eat/partake of any food, Islam prohibit the use of pork and alcohol
I have read several quotes from Bible that Pork was forbidden for "Christians" as well, but they don't practice it. So it apparently is not a difference b/w Christianity vs Islam, but Christianity vs Christians.
12. Christians believe they can have a personal relationship with God Almighty, Islam not
What do you mean by "Personal relationship"?
13. Christians celebrate Passover, Islam not
I am not aware of that, do Christians really celebrate Passover?
14. Christians practice fasting, Islam practice Ramadan and Eid
Ramadan is a "fasting" month. But perhaps Christians fast in a different way from Muslims.
.....
19. Christians in general don’t hold to clothing restrictions, Islam do
Christianity or Christians?
What really matters is that all Prophets came with the same message of Oneness of God. Prophets are like brothers, and each was sent with a message for the guidance of the people.
All Prophets taught Islam! So all divine religions have the same roots.
Re: Re: Re: Similarities
Thanks for correcting me, Changes_like.
Could you please supply me with the quotes? I am unaware of any.
Be able to talk to God as you would with a friend (although humble way), ask him something and He provide, etc.
Passover might be the wrong word as we don’t celebrate it as the Jews do. We celebrate Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection on the days when the Jews celebrate Passover and also do it with bread and wine.
Christians don’t have a prescribed fasting period but fast in different ways for different periods and for different purposes. Normally when Christians fast, they exclude all food till they break the fast no matter how many days.
Let’s call it “Christianity in general” ![]()
Can you add to my list, please?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Similarities
Book of Deutronomy 14:8 And the swine, because he parteth the hoof but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you: of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch.
Book of Leviticus 11:7-8 And the swine, because he parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you. Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch; they are unclean unto you.

Changez_like, the quotations you listed was given to the Jews only, not for Christians. Christians are relieved from this, see Acts.15.
If you go through your link, you will find myself explaining in more details.
Any other quotes?

Interesting. So God would prohibit Jews from consumption of swine, then allow Christians to consume then stop Muslims from consumption. Why do you think God would do that? Remember, the biology of this animal remains same if a Christians kills/cuts it or a Jew/Muslim. But God calls it unclean.
I don't remember any other quotes. So these quotes are from Bible, right? Why do these not apply to Christians?
There are no similarities

There is a difference between "kaafir" and "ahle-kitaab". Jews and Chrisitians are not addressed in sura Kafiroon, I believe, its "idolators" who are addressed.
Changes Like
Its is addressed to the kafiroon ...the disbelievers
the ahle kitab are not considered believers because who they worship
is not the same God
for example the christians believe in jesus and the holy spirit
that is not god
and for the jews ... they read that god created the heavens and earth
and rested on the seventh day
Allah subhanahu wa ta'la is not human or an angel and he doesnt
need to rest
therefore Allah swt is not who the christians and jews worship
so the surah is also addressed to them because they do no believe
in Allah
it is just not pork other meats can be contmainated also.
Even though cooking it to 265 degrees makes it sterile, I still don’t like poop in my chili," said Paul Johnson, acting chairman of the National Joint Council of Food Inspection unions. ConAgra issued a recall on June 30 for 354,200 pounds of ground beef contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, a potentially lethal variant. The company expanded the recall on July 19 after the USDA learned ConAgra made ground beef from untested meat on days the slaughterhouse found E. coli in meat it had tested.
Echinococcosis - Also called ECHINOCOCCAL DISEASE, HYDATIDOSIS, OR HYDATID DISEASE, formation of cysts, or hydatids, at the site of infestation by the larval form of Echinococcus granulosus, a tapeworm common in sheep, cattle, camels, dogs, and many other mammals
This is a very familiar phrase but can you translate it please.
Thanks everyone for your inputs…![]()
