Signatures on the Nikkah form..

How many of u did some special signature on ur Nikkah form..Or you did the reg signs you do at work, school/uni etc..
How many of u just wrote ur name.
whats the feeling like when u have so many people around u,waiting for u to sign..

i would think you would so ur regular signature on the nikkah, why would anybody not use the regular sign.????

erm, sometimes esp in Pakistan people have weird signatures,where u can hardly understand the name.So, thts y wondering do they write their name or not?

It is a nikah nama, you would sign it as any other legal document. As for not 'understanding' the signature, why would you need to ...the name of both the bride and groom DO get printed/written on the same page...

I signed it as I would regularly. The moment wasn't at all emotional for me I was the bridezilla sort, while I was signing it I was getting angry cuz I had purchased a mont blanc pen for the signing which my mom conveniently forgot in my hotel room. Then I read the nikkah nama and it said I was a virgin and that got me angry. Not because of me being a virgin or not but I didn't expect that to be written on it. I don't know if it's required to be there or not but if not then I hate the retarded person who decided to put it on, that's no ones damn business except mine and my husbands.

never seen a nikahnaama ... but am seriously shocked at that virgin bit ... why would they put it in the nikahnaama? do they have something similar for the groom to declare as well ?

^don't know. I told my husband and he didn't say he also had it so i doubt it. I was very shocked. After that we had decided to have another nikkah nama drafted in the US and sign it cuz our names were misspelled and our birthdays were also incorrect. We obviously got one genius of a mullah to do our nikkah. But I also don't know if we can sign another nikkah Nama.

As it is a legally binding document it would be most sensible to use your normal signature.

There is a question on nikhanama whether dulhan was previously married before.. so to answer that if its girl's first marriage they write virgin, if she is a divorcee or widow they write that.. i guess by writing "Virgin" they meant its your first marriage :)

yes i was wondering the same thing. what if this was a second marriage? or if the girl was raped? or heck, what is she wasn't a virgin? would the contract be null and void?

my nikkah was in lahore and the forms didnt have any such thing on it. all it asked was the marital status (single, widowed, divorced)

I did normal registered signatures**. I'm pretty expert in it, and I love them... One can only read the initial "M" of my name.. and i remember when I signed it on page one, some one commented right there, that what a PERFECT professional signatures! I am impressed..

I got pretty normal while signing... Though before that Nikkah I was crying beacuse of the fear of entering into a new life.. Sab kuch itna achaak hua tha k ronay ka bhi time nhi tha or na kuch sochne ka... I was in the side-room with few of my cousins when two unlces of mine came up with Nikkah papers..

I was rather laughing.. I had purchased a golden color parker pen for Nikkah, and a net duppata to put on my face at the time of Nikkah, put them all in a shopping bag, and gave it to my sis... The two uncles came so suddenly, taht she rushed to my mom for the shopping bag, pulled that net duppata over me, and gave the pen to me... I laughed on the situation because there were three people at the time offering me pen.. and I was syaing where is MY pen.. I was hivering so much that the pen didnt worked out..
I was that much confident that I signed the place where my hubby is supposed to sign. Lol.

There is the same option written in the nikkah papers.. Virgin/widow/divorced?
