Side bangs with a tikka??

So my wedding is only a month and a half away and I still can’t choose a hairstyle! Has anyone ever seen a dulhan who had side bangs with a tikka?? I think my forehead looks too big without bangs so I really don’t want to pull all my hair back but my sisters say my tikka won’t look good with bangs. Also doesn’t help that I can’t try it since my jewelry isn’t here yet!! What does you guys think?? Post pics of dhulans with side bangs if you have any, I can’t seem to find any!

that link has pics of that famous wedding .. the girl is wearing it and she has side bangs..
i think it looks really nice

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

I had a middle parting, and I regret it. It doesn't matter if your forehead is big, the tikka will be covering it! I say go for a middle parting, at least try it out :)

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

Here are some examples of a side part. One of them does not have a teeka though but it’s a lovely pic (imo).

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

I think a side part+tikka throws things out of proportion. It looks weird, especially if through the evening your hair messes up a little- which is inevitable. The bangs with the tikka look good on that girl though, but a part with no bangs would look odd. Though it really depends on your face and how you carry it off.

Another thing: I get so irked with tikkas on the side bangs. like a tikka on one side of the head. weirddddddd. KEEP IT IN THE MIDDLE PEOPLE, KEEP IT IN THE MIDDLE!

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

I've seen it and it looks okay, in order to have a different look on one of the days, but I think for the main day it's best to keep it in the center.

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

Aliyah why did you regret having a middle part, do you think side would look better?

Omg that Hina and Latif wedding is all over the internet! That's actually the one pic that I saw with side bangs and I liked it. I don't like side parts with a tikka either I think it looks weird but I liked how Hina's hair is all pulled back but she has bangs coming out to the side.

I know the jewellery would cover my forehead but I might not wear a jhoomar. My fiancee likes those big nose hoop things (I think it's called a nat??) so I'm gonna wear either that or a jhoomar, I don't want all 3 things. So tikka and jhoomar would hide my forehead but tikka and nose thing wouldn't. I'm so confused I don't know what to do!!

Hunted I agree that side part with nor bangs looks weird with a tikka. It looks like the tikka is just placed on top of the hair. Thanks for the pics redvelvet!

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

i had sidebangs with a teeka but the chain was tucked under my part. i personally think that looks better than having the chain over the sidepart because that just throws the symmetry off, but you’d have to try it and see how it looks on you. if your chain is elaborate, then a middle part might be better because it’ll sit nicely in the middle of it. and also, when you try on the teeka with your chosen hairstyle, also put the dupatta on your head to see how the finished look, er, looks.

http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/66549/prep8.jpg - looks much better with dupatta on!

this is one of the best side part/teeka styles i’ve seen-

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

^ I agree. If you're going to do it, please do not put the chain over the hair. Either do the side part and tuck under, as seen above. Or do that center puff and have the chain come out through that.

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

I had a side-parting for engagement, with a tikka, but without bangs, with the chain under the hair. TBH it didn't like the front of it all that much, and as the chain had a pretty design on it, the hair stylist put it quite low, when it should of been a little higher. Personally, i think the traditional hair back, looks prettier, unless you are really able to pull it off. Although, the pic that somegroovychick posted does look really pretty! Over hair is a definite no-no.

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

For the Barat keep in the center... i remember a style i loved on a dulhan...
The Dabang hairstyle, sumthing like that... with the maang and tikkah in the center...

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

btw ppl from dabang i meant sonakshi's hairstyle...

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

i dnt like side bang..its just my opnion....clear forhead gives u a more neat look

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

^ agree..

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

Sorry!!! I meant that I had a SIDE parting and I regreted it lol!

I checked out that video of the bride with side bangs, it's just my opinion but I didn't like it. It looked as though it kept getting in her way and you could hardly see her tikka.

I agree with the comments above, a middle parting looks so much neater. Go for the jhoomar not the nat! How will you eat and stuff, it will just get in the way?!

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

Thanks for the message Aliyah, I replied to you!

Hmm, I think you guys may be right about no bangs looking neater. My bangs get greasy easily too and I don't want to be looking oily. But I'm gonna feel really self conscious!

Is a nat hard to eat with?? Has anyone ever worn a clip on one before? My nose isn't pierced so it'd have to be clip on. I've actually never even really liked them that much but my fiancee really likes them...I think I might end up not wearing one!

@starberry why didn't you like your engagement hair? How'd it show up in pics?

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

It came out ok, it wasn't terrible, but not really pretty if that makes sense. I think it could have been a bit slicker!

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

If you don't want a straight up middle part, the latest trend in Karachi seems to be the pouf with the teeka chain tucked inside it. It can look very pretty but its very face-shape specific.

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

somegroovychick - I like that hairstyle! I've seen it a lot. I'm considering it for my own walima :)

Re: Side bangs with a tikka??

yeah just control the height of the pouf... you don't want to look like Snooki! :p
